DART IMPACT TESTER- DLX Pacorr Dart impact tester is a testing instrument for the plastic and film industries that is used to determine the strength of a plastic film when subjected under a sheer force that applied through a freely falling dart. The dart is hemispherical in shape and it is dropped from a specific height on a plastic film that is placed at the bottom of the instrument with some tension. This instrument is used for plastic films consists of a vacuum clamp of specified shape and size on which the specimen can be supported at its periphery in a horizontal plane, a dart with incremental weights, a vacuum pump with electric motor to provide the vacuum needed for holding the test specimen, and a clamping ring for holding thicker films during the test. The dart used for striking the film under test has a hemispherical head of 38.1 mm diameter made of fiber reinforced Bakelite and an aluminium shaft with mild steel tip for suspending it from an electromagnet. A set of annular shaped stainless steel weights is provided for changing the total mass of the dart for giving different impact energies. A foam padding is placed inside the clamp to avoid damage to the dart head if it passes through the test specimen. COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION TESTER- COMPUTERIZED (STATIC & KINETIC) The coefficient of friction is the ratio of the frictional force and normal pressure acting on two surfaces in contact with each other. Thus coefficient of friction is an inverse measure of the relative ease with which a material will slide over a similar or different material. Pacorr Coefficient of Friction Tester for plastic films is designed to find static and dynamic coefficients of friction between two flat surfaces of flexible plastic films. It consists of a rigid and smooth horizontal glass platform and an arrangement to measure frictional force between the test specimens mounted on it and a movable sled. The horizontal platform is fixed on the base plate and the specimen is held over its surface with the help of pressure sensitive adhesive tapes. The other portion of the specimen is held on a metal sled having its bottom face lined with rubber foam. The sled is kept over the specimen held on the platform and is made to move over the platform at the specified speech with the help of a screw mechanism. It is also connected to a load cell for measurement of frictional force acting on it. A digital display with peak force indicating arrangement enables measurement of both the instantaneous force and maximum force exerted during the slipping operation. LABORATORY HOT AIR OVEN Pacorr Laboratory Hot Air Oven is used to determine the effect of ageing on various physical properties of different materials may be carried out by heating the material under test inside an air oven so that the effects of long-term ageing are reproduced within a much shorter duration of time. For this determination, physical properties of the material under test are determined before ageing and then again after ageing the test specimen at the specified temperature for a specified duration of time and subsequent cooling to the room temperature before conducting the tests again. Determination of various physical characteristics different materials and products at elevated temperatures may be carried out by heating the test specimen to the appropriate temperature inside a constant temperature air oven and determining the required characteristics with the specimens kept under the same temperature. For this purpose the equipment needed for conducting the determination can either be kept inside the oven along with the test specimens, or, if this is not feasible because of certain constrains, by taking the heated specimens out from the oven and conducting the test in still air within the shortest possible span of time.
