Slide 9:How much should we eat? Include a soy food in your diet at least once a week Note: Refer to the table at the bottom of the fact sheet.
25 grams of soy protein per day is recommended for decreasing the risk of heart disease by lowering blood cholesterol levels.
HOWEVER, it is too early to say whether soy protein can reduce the risk of cancer, so there are no recommendations with regard to cancer. To play it safe, you should NOT load up on soy because high doses of isoflavones may actually be harmful. It is helpful to recommend moderate soy intake, in the amount of one soy food per week.Note: Refer to the table at the bottom of the fact sheet.

All ingredients Liquid measuring cupCutting board Small serving cupsSharp knifeBlender
Measure soy milk and orange juice into a blender.
Cut banana using a cutting board and sharp knife. Add to blender with strawberries and ice.
Blend until smooth.
Pour into small serving cups and serve.Note: Have the audience refer to the tips sheet as you begin the cooking demonstration. Pass out the recipe sheet and discuss which ones sound good. While demonstrating the recipes, try to incorporate the major points from the tips sheet.
