  17. Student MAI Reporting • Options for capturing MAIs: District Solution ePEP Course File Reconciliation File

  18. ePEP Course File • 2008-2009 8th graders must complete a career and education planning course prior to promotion (including the creation of an ePEP) • ePEP is revisited annually in high school • ePEP includes all planned coursework and major areas of interest

  19. ePEP Course File • COMPLETE download of student ePEP • Demographic indentifying information • Graduation Plan • Career Cluster • Major Area of Interest • Courses Selected • Grades 7-12 • Available at NWRDC, monthly basis • Can be used for more than MAIs

  20. Reconciliation File • COMPARISON of ePEP Course File with student transcripts • Attaches MAI code to a course (however, the MAI must have been included in the ePEP Course File or previously entered on a student’s transcript) • If a course could count for more than one of the MAIs designated by the student, the Reconciliation file course record will have more than one MAI on it (up to a maximum of 20).

  21. Reconciliation File COMPARISON of ePEP Course File with student transcripts When matching courses with MAIs designated by the student, three types of matches are provided: 1 – course appeared on the student’s ePEP 2 – elective course not on the ePEP, but still among the courses which could be used on one of the student’s designated MAIs 3 – same as type 2, except that the course has a core subject area (EN, MA, SC, etc.) and might not be an elective; district must investigate further

  22. Reconciliation File This year, only Grades 9 and 10 are considered in preparing Reconciliation Files. Available at NWRDC, three times a year You access these files using your school district’s Bright Futures logon ID OBDXnn “nn” is the school district number.

  23. File Names • ePEP Course File • OB.DXnn.FACTS.EPEP.COURSES • “nn” is the school district • Reconciliation File • OB.DXnn.FACTS.RECON.Dyyyymm • “nn” is the school district; “yyyy” is the calendar year; “mm” is the calendar month • values of ‘mm’ will be ‘03’, ‘06’, and ‘11’ with the datasets available after the end of March, June, and November
