    3. THE PROGRAM Global Village On the Move programs are held in unique epicenters of business around the world. Networking, business and cultural understanding, and an on-location experience are just a few of the central learning themes of On the Move programs. On the Move learning experiences are based on the belief that knowledge of business and industry, skills in leadership and entrepreneurship, and the creation of a powerful global network are all essential for leaders of today and tomorrow. The Global Village On the Move 2011 includes interactive learning experiences through a series of seminars and activities. Visit to local organizations provide first-hand accounts of how business operates in the region. Cultural activities provide participants with a familiarity with the people living in Peru.

    4. DETAILS The program will be held in Lima from February 26th to March 5th, 2011 Face-to-face contact with key business figures. Become part of a global network of the world’s next leaders of Business and Industry: people your age who are poised to become the leaders in their countries. Visits to Peruvian companies and other places of interest in business and industry.

    6. BUSINESS PROJECT COMPETITION Throughout the program, participants will be assigned to a project. Teams will be challenged to provide solution for a business client. This is a competition, and all teams will be presenting their proposals before the closing ceremony.

INTERNATIONAL FACILITATOR Ezquer-Matallana is the founder and executive director of Think Creative BizNets (TCBNets), a business strategy consulting firm delivering value to its clients in the fields of strategy, organization and operational efficiency. He is currently operating for clients in the US, Mexico, Argentina, China, India, Italy and Spain. His responsibilities in the firm range from general management and the coordination of its 15 associates, to consulting in the fields of strategy formulation, business model innovation and internationalization. In the academic arena, Fermin is Associate Professor at NYU Madrid Campus and until 2002 was the Associate Dean of the College of Business Administration at the Francisco de Vitoria University. He has written a book on creativity and strategy "La Empresa Creativa", Netbiblo 2007, and is currently preparing a new one on management best practices for small and medium size corporations that will be published in March 2010.

    10. THE STRATEGIC LEADER Gonzalo Galdos received his bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering from Universidad Nacional San Agustín de Arequipa in 1985. He then went on to receive a doctorate in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and a second doctorate in International Business Administration and Management with the Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Additionally, Dr. Galdos has taken courses at the prestigious Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Kellogg Graduate School of Management and Harvard Business School. Simultaneously, Dr. Galdos brings significant practical experience to his impressive academic qualifications. He has served as the Executive President of Armco Group, Sider Peru, the National Council on the Environment (CONAM), as Director of the Consortium of Economic and Social Investigation (CIES), and as President of the Consumer Protection Commission of Indecopi.

    11. THE ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADER Guillermo Quiroga received his law degree in 1989 from Universidad Católica Santa María in Arequipa. He then went on to earn a Masters of Business Management from the Management School of the Universidad de Piura, and is currently a candidate for his doctorate in Business Administration and Management at la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Since 1998, Guillermo Quiroga has served on the faculty of several prestigious graduate programs throughout Peru, before joining the faculty of UPC in 2004 as the Academic Director for the Department of Business Administration. He was named to his current position as Director of UPC Graduate School this November 2010.

    12. THE ETHICAL LEADER Dick Brandt is an international consultant, advisor and accomplished public speaker. He has had over 15 years of experience in managing international business operations, while serving in various Vice President positions during a 25-year career at AT&T and Lucent Technologies. International operations for which Mr. Brandt assumed responsibility included all activities associated with sales, project implementation, technical sales support and overseeing and supporting hundreds of international staff in over 25 countries in Asia, W. Europe, E. Europe, the Middle East and Africa. These responsibilities led him to direct discussions of international business issues with world leaders such as the former President of the PLO, Yasar Arafat and Jiang Zemin, former President of PRC. Mr. Brandt also served on the Board of Directors for five international ventures in Singapore, PRC, India, Poland and Russia.

    13. THE SERVANT LEADER David Fischman is a published writer, news paper columnist and international consultant. He has spent much of his time in recent years researching and teaching topics about leadership, human resources and company culture. He has given conferences and seminars in the United States and many countries in Latin America. David Fischman is a Civil Engineering graduated of the Georgia Institute of Technology, and obtained his masters in Business Administration at the University of Boston; both degrees were summa cum laude. David Fischman is a founding member and Vice-President for Innovation and Development at Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas. He is member of the boards of several business companies and non profit social support foundations. Mr. Fischman´s books have sold more than 350,000 copies worldwide. His third book The Secret of the Seven Seeds has been translated into six languages. This book topped the best seller list in Business and Leadership in Amazon.com.

    14. THE MULTICULTURAL LEADER Alicia Fowler has been a staff member of Lehigh University’s Office of International Affairs since November, 2006. As a Coordinator for the Iacocca Institute’s Global Village for Future Leaders of Business and Industry®, Alicia is involved in countless aspects of the program in terms of both logistics and customer service. Prior to joining the staff at the Iacocca Institute, Alicia managed a small sales force for an international retail franchise. She chose to move to her current position with the Global Village because it allows her to partner her experience in customer service with her passion for diversity and international travel. Alicia is a life-long learner who seeks and finds opportunities to grow personally and professionally in everything she is engaged in. Her education is an impressive blend of traditional academics and practical experience. She has an M. Ed. in Globalization and Educational Change and is currently working toward a second Masters degree in Teaching, Learning, and Technology. Her work with the hundreds of young global leaders who apply each year for the Global Village affords her a unique opportunity to put her leadership theory into practice.

    15. THE ASSERTIVE LEADER Mary Frances Schurtz-Leon has served as Candidate Manager of the Global Village for over twelve years. As a licensed attorney, veteran teacher, and international connoisseur, Mary Frances is a source of leadership and passion at the Iacocca Institute. Since assuming her position as Candidate Manager for the Global Village, Mary Frances has also taken on the role of International Student Candidate Manager for the Pennsylvania School for Global Entrepreneurship, Director of Residence Life, Manager of the Global Village Guide Team and has also recruited for the Global Village in Latin and South America, and adopted the responsibility of Global Village Alumni Relations. Mary Frances’s career spans a wide variety of positions and places, but the common thread is a focus on the value of connecting with people. She has found her calling at the Global Village as a mentor to the young people that will change the world.

    16. COMPANY VISITS Banco de Crédito del Perú: Banco de Crédito del Perú (BCP), the largest financial institution in Peru, had total assets of $18.2 billion as of June 30, 2009. This represented about one-third of the system's lending. The bank enjoys a well-diversified business profile, with active participation in retail and wholesale banking (see chart 1), asset management, private banking, and treasury activities. As a commercial bank, BCP's core business is lending. The bank's loan portfolio reached $10.2 billion, almost 56% of total assets, as of June 30, 2009. Responding to increasing competition from local and international financial institutions in the past two to three years, the bank has diversified from its traditional focus on corporate lending, by expanding its menu of services. This should increase fee income and offset decreasing spreads in the market, and expand retail lending to capture this area's higher profits. However, we expect the bank will implement a more conservative business strategy than it has in the past, amid the economic slowdown. Consequently, we expect the bank to show lower asset growth during fiscal 2009 than in the past two years.

    17. COMPANY VISITS Kola Real Kola Real, a soft-drink company founded in the late 1980s on the Añaños family’s farm in the Peruvian Andes. Peru’s political and economic turmoil made it increasingly difficult for the leaders of its soft-drink market to operate profitably, but the Añaños family saw opportunity in the chaos. They focused initially on low-income rural consumers, who were motivated more by low prices than by brand loyalties. The results have been phenomenal. Kola Real’s regional soft-drink, Big Cola, trails only Coca-Cola, Pepsi, and Sprite. By 2002, the company made an estimated $1 billion in annual sales; owned fourteen manufacturing plants, with a two billion liter annual capacity; and had subsidiaries in Mexico, Venezuela, Ecuador, four Central American countries, and Thailand.

    23. CANCELLATION The organizers will send the Confirmation of Participation upon receipt of payment. Cancellations received in writing before January 21st, 2011 will be charged a 10% service fee (of payment made). If you are unable to attend, a replacement is welcomed at no extra charge. Please provide the name and title of the replacement at least two days prior to the event.

    24. ACCOMMODATION Hotel Maria Angola is strategically located in the heart of Miraflores, the most important financial, social and commercial area in Lima. It is located 20 minutes away from dowtown Lima, and about 35 minutes from the International Airport.

    26. AMAZING CUSCO 4 days / 3 nights DAY 1 Arrival to Cusco and transfer from the Airport to the Hotel. Afternoon, City Tour excursion places to visit the Qoricancha, The Cathedral, Sacsayhuaman, Q'enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. Evening, on your own.

    27. DAY 2 Breakfast in the Hotel. Very early in the morning transfer to the train station of Poroy - Cusco to take your train to visit Machu Picchu. By 9:30 aprox. the train arrives in Aguas Calientes, the village where you will take a bus for 25 minutes ride to Machupicchu. The lunch is taken in Machu Picchu Santuary Lodge Transfer to the train station to go back to the Cusco City. Arrival to the Station in Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

    28. DAY 3 Breakfast at the hotel. Tour to Valle Sagrado de los Incas, Pisaq-Ollantaytambo-Chincheros. Buffet lunch at the Posada del Inca hotel o Tunupa. Return to Cusco y transportation to the hotel. Evening on your own.
