  3. WHAT IS IMPEDANCE? Impedance is an electronics term which measures the amount of opposition a device has to an AC current (such as an audio signal). Technically speaking, it is the combined effect of capacitance, inductance, and resistance on a signal. LOW impedance is better than HIGH impedance. Low is usually associated with Professional Mics,High, with amateur Mics

Guidelines for Audio Recording • Do not use on Auto unless absolutely necessary • Don’t let the audio signal over modulate, especially in digital formats • Always use head sets for monitoring audio, then: • Listen for location noises: air conditioners, planes, background talk, electrical hums, etc. STOP THE RECORDING/TAKE if you encounter any of the above. Take appropriate action to correct the problem if at all possible.. • Don’t let an audio (XLR cord) run parallel to an Extension Cord.
