(1888PressRelease) With launch of Health Traveler (http://www.health-traveler.com), information on medical tourism and treatment abroad becomes more accessible to consumers around the world. With introduction of http://www.health-traveler.com, the Internet has just become an even more valuable resource for Americans who are interested in medical tourism and health treatment abroad. This site was created specifically to meet the needs of the people who are interested in procedures overseas, and will allow them to search for trusted expert surgeons and find excellent health care facilities easily online. The growing range of doctor and country choices for medical tourism is excellent news for patients, but it does require careful contemplation of all options. http://www.health-traveler.com allows patients to assess all options and make the best and most informed decisions about their health care. The costs of medical treatment in the United States continue to skyrocket- in fact, in the year 2009 the annual price of health insurance coverage rose 5%, according to a survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation and Health Research & Educational Trust. The number of procedures that health care plans refuse to cover continues to shrink, even as costs continue to rise. Many of the procedures that Americans want or need to have today are considered elective, or non-acute procedures by the insurance companies. Compounding that problem is the fact that the price of elective surgeries in the United States is far higher than in many other countries in the world. These factors combine to leave far too many people with dwindling options to get the care that they are seeking. The medical tourism industry has risen to meet the needs of people who wish to have non-acute procedures performed, but want to have those procedures for a reasonable cost. In fact, a recent report published by Deloitte Research revealed that as many as 750,000 people leave the United States each year to have medical procedures performed in other countries where the cost is far more reasonable. Current Deloitte projections predict that the number will increase to between 12 and 15 million people having treatment abroad by the year 2017.
Most of the procedures that a typical health traveler has today are cosmetic or plastic surgeries that would have been twice as expensive-or more- in the United States. The growing availability of highly qualified expert surgeons in countries such as India, Singapore, Mexico, Thailand, New Zealand, Costa Rica, and Israel has opened up countless options for Americans seeking cosmetic or other non-acute surgery at a reasonable cost. However, finding the surgeons and the healthcare facilities to perform the surgeries can be challenging, especially because the surgery will be performed overseas. Health Traveler aims to makes this search simpler and faster. http://www.health-traveler.com/ Source: http://www.1888pressrelease.com/medical-tourism/health-traveler/health-traveler-a-new-web-site-providing-information-on-med-pr-234990.html
