Understanding Vacuum Assisted Biopsy (VAB)

Vacuum assisted biopsy, often referred to as VAB, is a highly effective and minimally invasive procedure used to obtain tissue samples for diagnostic purposes. Unlike traditional core needle biopsies, Vacuum assisted biopsy utilises a special needle connected to a vacuum device. This allows for multiple tissue samples to be collected through a single skin incision, making the process more efficient and less traumatic for the patient. It's an invaluable tool for accurately diagnosing abnormalities, particularly in breast tissue.<br>
