40. WOOD BLOCKS Wood Blocks These raw blocks of woods are slices into wooden slats of specied thickness and edges.Wood Slats are imported to the factory The raw wood which is transported from well-known suppliers is shaped into a block of wood. Factory

41. WOOD TREATMENT Treatment These slats are treated in high pressure chambers which are impregnated by the organic chemicals and wax in order to soften the wood.

42. The treated wood from the container are dried by two methods: 01 • natural sun dry process • drying in hot room consisting of heat exchangers. The moisture of the wood is measured by the wood moisture meter. 02 The wood slats are dried till the moisture meter show reading 1-3 % 03

43. The treated dried slated from the hot room are now feed in the grooving machine Makes even slots on the wood for placing the lead graphite.

44. Ø These grooved slats are feed in the automatic lead laying machine. Ø In this machine there are two strokes, the rst stroke places the wood slate on the conveyor the other stroke lls the fevicol and the lead and covers it with another slat in order to make a sandwich.

45. The edges are finely cut and the high speed cutters rotate shapes the wooded sandwiches into raw pencils After the sandwiches are dried completely the sandwiches are feed in the shaping machine.

46. LEAD CENTRE CHECKING Centre Check It consist two vision cameras with takes the binary image of the pencil tip and calculates the off centre of the lead. Asian pencils has the most advanced machine for checking the centre of the lead graphite in the pencil. A certain tolerance is set in microns in which a slight off centre is accepted.

DIPPING PROCESS The tip of the pencils are coloured by using the dipping process In which the pencils are lled into a board of 150 pencils then these boards are levelled equally using a leveller for consistent colouring of the tip. Then these boards are dipped in a tray through machine of a specied length , Two three dips are made to each board according to the desired design.

49. ENDCUTTING THE END CUTTING PROCESS IS THE FINISHING PROCESS OF THE PENCIL AS IT CLEANS THE EDGE OF THE PENCIL AND MAKES A FINISHED CUT.
