About Fashion • Occupying the pride of place at premium multi-brand outlets like iconic Fashion India, Flying Machine is a comparatively young Indian fashion brands that has come a long way. • India’s first homegrown denim brand started out when only smuggled jeans were available in the country. The options were few and the prices ridiculously prohibitive. That is when Arvind Mills decided to fulfil the aspirations of an entire generation of Indian youth.

  4. The beginning • The year was 1980. Fresh out of the swinging 70s, the flower-power generation of India was striving to express itself. The most wi(l)dely popular symbol of the rebellion that it encompassed was jeans. • Except that there were no jeans available in India. If you did not have an aunt visiting you from Miami, the only option you had was to pick the smuggled piece from dingy basement shops in the markets with high costs and no warranties.

  5. From the beginner to a trusted Indian fashion brand • Soon Flying Machine was glamming-up the denim wear market in the country. They started designing funkier jeans along with the classic, simple options. Umpteen styles of T- shirts, shirts and accessories were being launched, one after the other. • The sales started soaring. New stores started opening. From being available only in metros, the brand started invading smaller towns and soon had an all India presence. At stores like iconic fashion India, it is one of the fastest selling Indian fashion brands.
