With less than a fortnight for April 1st, H-1B is the most concerned topic of discussion for the employers filing H-1B. The new regulations and restrictions in the H-1B process usually add up more confusion among the beneficiaries and the petitioners. However, this latest announcement about H-1B premium processing throws some light upon the process. H1b premium processing update The major highlights of the USCIS announcement are the start of H-1B cap season, the launch of new H-1B data hub, premium processing dates and also a reminder of the changes in the H-1B process. Every update or change made in the H-1B process is in support of Trumpu2019s policy u201cBuy American, Hire Americanu201d. H-1B Cap Season & the H-1B Premium Processing for the FY 2020: April 1st,2019: This date marks the beginning of H-1B Cap season and USCIS will accept H-1B petitions starting from April 1st,2019. Any petition filed before this date will be rejected. If there is any discrepancy in the information provided, it may lead to delay in processing or an RFE. So, the employers have to follow all the rules and regulations while filing the petition. Here is the Optional Checklist for filing Form I-129 H-1B filings. H-1B Premium Processing for FY 2020 This Cap season USCIS has started a two-phase approach for H-1B premium processing. This update would ease up the burden on USCIS making it easier for them to manage the premium processing rather than suspending it like the previous years. However, these latest updates on the H-1B premium processing dates have also created a commotion. The First phase of H-1B premium processing will include all the cap-subject petitions requesting the status change. And the second phase includes all the remaining cap-subject petitions. May 20th,2019: (First phase of H-1B premium processing) Any petitioner, requesting for a status change may file for premium processing by concurrently filing the Form I-907 (Request for Premium Processing) along with Form I-129 (Petition for Non-Immigrant Worker). Petitioners must select response u201cbu201d for Item 4 in Part 2 of Form I-129 to be eligible to concurrently file Form I-907. USCIS will not start processing for these petitions immediately. However, it will notify the date of premium processing in the future, which will be before May 20th, 2019. If any petitioner requesting for a status change hasnu2019t filed Form I-907 along with the Form I-129, he/ she must wait until the premium processing date is confirmed. USCIS will reject any petition which is not concurrently filed with the H-1B petition, but filed before the confirmed premium processing date. June, 2019: (Second phase of H-1B premium processing) USCIS will not start the second phase of H-1B premium processing for all other Cap-petitions until June, 2019. All the petitioners who are not requesting a change of status donu2019t need to submit Form I-907 with H-1B petition. They can upgrade their petition to premium processing once USCIS notifies the confirmed date for all the other cap-subject petitions. New H-1B data Hub: As a part of USCISu2019s effort to promote transparency in H-1B process, it is making the new H-1B Employer Data Hub available in uscis.gov from April 1st, 2019. This hub includes information about the employers who are filing H-1B petitions. This data will be available for the public, which will be helpful in calculating the approval rate and denial rate. New selection process for H-1B: DHS has proposed a new rule for the selection of the H-1B petitions. This new regulation reverses the order in which H-1B petitions are selected. The new H-1B process mandated a lottery on the regular cap prior to the cap exempt. 65,000 petitions are selected from the first lottery. This lottery includes both the regular cap petitions along with the cap exempt petitions. The petitions selected in the process are sent for further processing. All the unselected petitions are returned to the employers or attorneys along with the fees. Now, the cap exempt lottery is conducted for the unselected exempt petitions. This minor change in the process increases the chances of selection for the Cap exempt petitions, which will be an advantage for all the beneficiaries with a Masteru2019s Degree from US university. WELDING PROCESSES FOR STAINLESS STEEL The stainless-steel welding process varies depending on the thickness and finish of the material. The oxygen surrounding the molten pool of stainless steel must be kept to an absolute minimum. The weld pool of stainless steel will behave differently than aluminum or carbon steel. There are variety of welding methods for Stainless Steel. Here we are discussing about some of them. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) Gas metal arc welding is one of the most familiarly known and most popular ways to weld stainless steel. There are many similarities between MIG welding stainless steel and welding carbon steel. No special drive rolls need to be used, and the electrical polarity remains the same. However, shielding gas compositions are typically different. Lower amounts of oxygen are allowable when welding stainless steel, so O2 or CO2 levels should be kept around 2% or lower. It is quite common for tri-blend shielding gases that contain argon, helium, and carbon dioxide or oxygen to be used when MIG welding stainless steel. Furthermore, to prevent cracking, the filler wire and base stainless steel should be a low carbon version or have stabilizers in them such as tantalum or niobium. Using a pulsed welding waveform can also help users MIG weld stainless steel more successfully. Gas tungsten Arc welding (GTAW or TIG) This is the most widely used process due to its versatility and high quality as well as the aesthetic appearance of the finished weld. The ability to weld at low current, and hence low heat input, plus the ability to add filler wire when required, make it ideal for thin materials and root runs in one sided welding of thicker plate and pipe. The process is easily mechanized and the ability to weld with or without the addition of filler wire (autogenous welding) make it the process for orbital welding of pipe. Pure argon is the most popular shielding gas, but argon rich mixtures with the addition of hydrogen, helium or nitrogen are also employed for specific purposes. Inert backing gas protection of the weld under-bead is employed with single-sided welding to prevent oxidation and the loss of corrosion resistance. Plasma Arc Welding (PAW) A derivative of the TIG process involving a constructed nozzle system to produce a narrow concentrated transferred plasma arc with deep penetration characteristics. Mainly used in a mechanized system where high speed, high productivity autogenous welding of square-edged butt joints up to 8mm thick is required. With thicker square edged butt joints, a combination of PAW/TIG and filler wire becomes necessary to ensure a full profile weld surface. Thickness greater than 10mm employ a partial v-preparation PAW root weld followed by multi-pass joint filling. Argon backing gas protection is necessary to maintain the corrosion resistance of the under-bead. Metal-Cored Arc Welding A better cored wire alternative to both self-shielded flux-cored arc welding and gas-shielded flux-cored arc welding is metal-cored arc welding. This is most commonly used because metal-cored arc welding does not rely on flux at all. The metal core of the filler material, while it does have certain kinds of deoxidizers, is mostly packed with powdered metals to increase deposition. With the proper shielding gas and wire feeding system metal-cored arc welding can be used to make high-quality welds on stainless steel. For the most part, a pulsed waveform or spray-transfer arc is required to make a high-quality stainless-steel welded tubes and pipes with metal-cored arc welding. Laser Beam Welding (LBW) Laser beam welding is frequently used to join together stainless steel at very fast travel speeds and with very low heat inputs. Cracks and porosity can be avoided through reducing the amount of oxygen via a shielding gas and weld parameter optimization. Care must be taken to avoid porosity and cracking when welding with lasers. Laser beam welding is never performed manually, and therefore, must be automated if it is selected as the process to be used for welding stainless steel. Welded steel pipe production process is simple, high production efficiency, variety specifications, equipment investment, but the general strength is lower than the seamless steel pipe. Stainless Steel Seamless pipe is made of a single piece of metal and has no jointed steel pipe on the surface, which is called seamless steel pipe. Seamless steel pipe is made from a single piece of metal on the surface of steel pipe joints. Seamless pipe as the name denotes is a pipe without a seam or a weld-joint in contrast to Seam or Welded pipe. Difference between Seamless and welded pipes. Manufacturing process To manufacture Stainless steel seamless pipes, ingot steel or billets are used as raw materials. Seamless piping begins as a solid cylindrical hunk of steel called a billet. While still hot, billets are pierced through the center with a mandrel. The next step is rolling and stretching the hollow billet. The billet is precisely rolled and stretched until it meets the length, diameter and wall thickness as specified by the customer order. Stainless steel welded pipes are created by joining together opposite edges of a flat iron strip. The metal is put through very high heat which makes it malleable. The pipe is then passed through a groove and a rolling mill. Thin iron sheets are heated and passed through a cone-shaped opening forcing its edges to curl and create a pipe. The edges are then folded and welded together to finish the pipe. Molding Process Welded steel pipe is welded, it is cut into by the steel strip narrow steel strip, and then wrapped into a tubular shape with the cold mold. Seamless steel pipe is cylindrical ingot hot pull into a tube, so cannot see the weld. Length A seamless pipe is relatively Short in length. Welding pipes can be manufactured in long continuous length. Costs and price Seamless pipes are little bit costly than Welded pipes because of the raw materials, manufacturing equipment used in seamless pipes. The Company has performed a detailed dataset review of the high-grade nickel- copper showings. The Dinorwic Gold Property hosts a high-grade nickel-copper showings situated on the southern flank of the district scale property along with its gold showings. Due to the high nickel and copper prices being experienced in todayu2019s base metal markets, the company has reviewed the known zones of high-grade nickel (pentlandite)and copper (chaclopyrite) mineralization which occurs along a 3 km long shear zone that has received preliminary work. The property was previously under option by Falconbridge Nickel who carried out an extensive program of line cutting, magnetic surveys and HL-EM (horizontal loop electromagnetic). These surveys combined with more recent government surveys has allowed the Company to develop a number of high priority drill targets. The drill targets are traversed by a number of logging roads, cut across the claims providing excellent for mobilization of drill crews. Discovery of High-Grade Nickel-Copper: Nickel-copper mineralization was discovered in outcrop by a local prospector in 1997, who blasted a trench to allow fresh samples to be recovered. The property was optioned to Falconbridge Limited in 1998. Falconbridge reported assays of eight representative samples. The highest assay grades were 1.87% Cu, 1.74% Ni and 0.11% Co. Averages of all eight samples were 0.92% Cu, 0.96% Ni and 0.06% Co. Elevated levels of platinum (0.029 g/t Pt), palladium (0.039 g/t Pd) and gold (0.085 g/t Au) were also reported. Exploration by Falconbridge in 1998: Falconbridge carried out a program including 45.55 km of line cutting, 45.55 km of magnetic survey and 38.87 km of horizontal loop electromagnetic (HLEM) survey, as well as geological mapping. The HLEM survey located two distinct anomalies: a 600-metre-long conductor that coincides with a positive magnetic anomaly; and a 500-metre-long conductor without magnetic association. The surface outcrop and trenched area did not give a discrete geophysical response. Petrographic work by Falconbridge identified the host rock as gabbro, the copper-bearing mineral as chalcopyrite, partially altered to covellite, and the nickel-bearing mineral as pentlandite, partially altered to millerite and violarite. The presence of primary pentlandite and chalcopyrite indicates that the mineralization is of magmatic origin. Government Airborne Geophysical Survey: In 2001-2002 the Ontario Geological Survey (OGS) covered the Dinorwic property with its Stormy Lake airborne magnetic and electromagnetic survey using the Megatemu00ae system. The magnetic data show that the high-grade nickel-copper mineralization exposed on surface and in the trench lies in a relative magnetic low, in the angle of a magnetic anomaly shaped like a check mark (uf054). The short arm of the check mark is 1.5 kilometers long and the long arm is 3.3 kilometers long. The 600-metre long HLEM conductor cuts across the acute angle between the two arms of the magnetic anomaly. Drilling by Gold Summit in 2008: In 2008, Gold Summit Corp acquired the nickel-copper prospect and carried out a program that included stripping an area about 200 meters long and up to 75 meters wide, and drilling four holes totaling 402 meters in the vicinity of the surface exposures and trenched sulphide zone. Analysis of drill core did not yield any significant copper or nickel values. Geological drill logs mention extensive ultramafic rocks, which may not have been exposed in outcrops or the stripped area. Ultramafic rocks are generally more prospective for magmatic nickel-copper (cobalt, platinum-group metals) than the gabbro described by Falconbridge. Exploration Model and Planned Program: It is considered significant that the drilling by Gold Summit did not test either the magnetic anomalies or the HLEM conductors, which remain untested and unexplained, as drill-ready, prime exploration targets. The exploration model used by Trans Canada Gold Corp. is disseminated to possibly massive, magmatic nickel-copper-cobalt, PGE sulphide zones in gabbro and/or associated ultramafic rocks, with possible mobilization into the carbonate-altered shear zones that are a feature of the Dinorwic property. The Company plans an aggressive campaign of prospecting, geochemical sampling and diamond drilling to test the nickel-copper potential of the property.
