  1. Smart Buildings - Build a Sustainable Future with Building Automation and Controls System Building automation and control system is a broader term that involves automation of various kinds of buildings including a residential building, a commercial space, a hospitality infrastructure, and so on. It uses multiple sensors, detectors, and other smart devices to integrate and access the internal operations, thereby is often referred to as an intelligent building or smart building. The aim of a modern building automation and control system is to achieve complete autonomous control of entire entity facilities such as security, fire, lighting, humidity control, HVAC, ventilation systems in a building or across multiple campuses. The core functionality of building automation system (BAS) is to maintain the building climate within a certain range, monitor device performance and failure, provide quick detection and malfunction alarms, and others. Although, installation of building automation and control system is very expensive, it lowers the maintenance costs and utility bills. The lifespan of every equipment in BAS is long, which led to more indirect savings. At the same time, this system increases a building’ overall value by providing better comfort and more environment friendly surroundings. There are five main components of building automation and control system i.e. sensors, controllers, output devices, communication protocols, terminal interface. Sensors help in keeping a track of the temperature, lighting levels, humidity levels, and so many other parameters like number of people in a room and if there is smoke in the room. Controllers are considered as the brain of BAS because they collect all the information from sensors and command the connected systems like HVAC systems, lighting systems and others accordingly. Once the command is sent, relays & actuators follow the instructions. Communication protocols such as BAC NET and Modus use specific language to connect with each components. They send and receive data to execute commands. The user interface or terminal interface, on the other hand, gives the opportunity to make adjustments manually. According to a report published by Allied Market Research, the global building automation and controls market size is registered to reach $215.5 billion with a considerable CAGR from 2020 to 2027. Owing to a wide array of benefits such as enhanced occupant comfort, energy efficiency, time efficiency, improved security, performance documentation, improved lifecycle, comfortable lifestyle and others, the demand for building automation and control system is increasing across the world. This in turn, is boosting the growth of the market in more than one way. Here, it is worth mentioning that with revolutionary smart building concepts, the future buildings are expected to become more and more automated. The main motive of all buildings now-a-days is to become more energy efficient, economical, safer and comfortable. Green buildings are already using strong BAS in order to stay advanced and multi-functional. The key market players are adopting geographical expansions, partnerships, and
