Agenda • The Challenge • Enabling the Mobile Workforce • Questions
The Challenge • Field technicians with no connectivity to central office • Host-based systems contain the vital legacy information • Account Details • Key Reports • Equipment Status • Allow mobile workers access to critical data systems • Terminal software can be difficult to train • Terminal connections not always accessible while mobile • Need Secure Connections • Complete redevelopment cost is prohibitive
The Solution – Phase 1 • Enable access to Host-based systems using a hybrid technology approach • IBM WebSphere Host Access Transformation System (HATS) • Mobile Computing Devices (Laptops, Blackberries, etc) • Air card connectivity • Quickly transform host system applications to web based applications • Add additional business logic to the existing host system • Rapidly create hybrid applications between host systems and current web apps
The Solution – Phase 2 • Provide data collection using Mi-Forms solution • Add additional business logic to the existing host system • Provide linkage to other internal systems • Rapidly create hybrid applications between host systems and current web apps • Create a new value proposition for existing applications • Increased customer satisfaction
Questions? • Please contact Troy Webb or Michael Chapman • Troy.webb@incentric.com - (919) 427-0900 • Michael.chapman@incentric.com – (919) 427-6903 www.incentric.com
What exactly is HATS? • IBM Middleware technology • Runs on IBM WebSphere Application Server • Sits between the AS400 and the End User • Translates native (5250) datastream to HTML • Screens can be enhanced with GUI controls • Multiple AS400 screens can be combined into one • Macros can perform multiple-screen functions in the background • Business rules can be implemented and enforced
