  2. What ACF-801 Changes are Occurring? • SSN is no longer required • New Data Element, Number in Eligible Family, is added for ACF-801 files submitted for January 2002 reporting period and after

  3. What standards will change with the SSN being optional? • Other data elements affected by this change: • Element 2 (Unique State Identification Number) • Element 3 (Head of Household SSN) • Element 5 (Single Parent) • Element 17 (Child SSN)

  4. Element 2 (Unique State Identification Number) • If Element 3 (Head of Household SSN) is not reported, then this element must be reported and must uniquely identify the family over time (i.e. each monthly submission)

  5. Element 3 (Head of Household SSN) • This data element is no longer required. • CCDF eligibility may not be denied because a parent chooses not to provide an SSN. • If this element is not reported, Element 2 (Unique State Identification Number) must be reported.

  6. Element 5 (Single Parent) • There is no longer a consistency standard between this element, Element 17 (Child SSN) and Element 3 (Head of Household SSN). • The other consistency standard stating that if this element = 9, then Element 6 (Reason for Receiving Subsidy) must=4 (Protective Services) still applies.

  7. Element 17 (Child SSN) • There is no longer a consistency standard for this data element since SSNs are not required.

  8. What are the standards for Element 16 (# in Eligible Family)? • If Element 5 (Single Parent) does not = 9, then Element 16 (Number in Eligible Family) must be greater than or equal to the number of children receiving services plus the head of the household. • Therefore, the smallest acceptable value for this field if Element 5 does not equal 9 is 2.

  9. What are the standards for Element 16 (# in Eligible Family)? • With the new data element included, a record will look like: F200104000000000000047410992182100031299991999070000001110003C1861934940001002199709S0203671104$ New data element: Element 16 (Number in Eligible Family)
