Although CLL is rarely seen in children and people under age 40, it is more prevalent in geriatric population. Moreover, causes of CLL are largely unknown and it is more severe than acute leukemia. The prevalence of CLL is high in males than females. Although, the incidence of this disorder is higher in white population than Asian populations, the precise cause for this cannot be explained.
