  1. FIVE THINGS TO AVOID WHEN RENTING A CAR Visit to learn more about traveling: addCar.com 1. NOT EXPLORING THE AVAILABLE OPTIONS ENOUGH Since Europe is such a popular tourist destination, there are many choices available for car rental in Europe catering to the ever-blooming tourism. It’s worthwhile to check the websites of different car rental companies before settling on one option. 2. PURCHASING INSURANCE THAT ISN’T NEEDED If you already have an auto insurance policy for your own personal car, chances are that it offers coverage for any collision damages and personal liabilities that incur while using a rental car on a temporary basis. The terms and conditions do vary for these policies, so it’s advisable that you clear the air about the same with your insurance provider. 3. RENTING A CAR FROM THE AIRPORT Unless you would like paying extra for a car rental that costs less when hired at any location other than the airport, you would want to avoid the blunder of renting the car from the airport. At airport, car rental companies charge airport fee on top of the rental price. 4. PAYING IN ADVANCE FOR THE FUEL You may find it convenient to pre-pay the rental company for filling up the gas tank to full, but you should refrain from doing so. You can’t estimate in advance how much gas you’ll be needing for the trip. You may end up using only half of the tank. 5. NOT INSPECTING THE CAR CLOSELY Before driving out in your rental car, take a through look at the state of the car. Check for any damages, dents or scratches on the exterior of the car, and any stains or spills in the interior of the car. Make note of any such issues in the damage check sheet that usually comes with the rental cars. SOURCE: https://medium.com/@addCarRental/five-things-to-avoid-when-renting-a-car-49f2d7df5b81
