  2. Introduction Chandrayaan 3 is the third lunar mission of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is a soft-landing mission that will deploy a lander and rover on the surface of the moon. The mission was launched on July 14, 2023, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.

  3. Objectives The main objectives of Chandrayaan 3 are to: Achieve a soft landing on the moon Deploy a rover on the lunar surface Explore the lunar surface and subsurface Study the lunar geology and mineralogy Search for water ice on the moon Demonstrate new technologies for future lunar missions

  4. Payloads Chandrayaan 3 will carry a total of 13 payloads, including: Six payloads on the lander: Terrain Mapping Camera (TMC) Laser Retroreflector Array (LRA) Moon Mineralogy Mapper (M3) Orbiter High Resolution Camera (OHRC) Vikram Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (VAX) Vikram Terrain Camera (VTC)

  5. Seven payloads on the rover: Pragyan Rover Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometer (LIBS) Alpha Particle X-ray Spectrometer (APXS) Near InfraRed Spectrometer (NIRS) Methane Sensor (MS) Thermal Conductivity Probe (TCP) Dust Detector (DD) Magnetometer (MAG)

  6. TIMELINE THE CHANDRAYAAN 3 MISSION IS EXPECTED TO LAST FOR ONE YEAR. THE LANDER IS SCHEDULED TO TOUCH DOWN ON THE MOON ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2023. THE ROVER WILL THEN BE DEPLOYED AND WILL BEGIN ITS EXPLORATION OF THE LUNAR SURFACE.

  7. Significance Chandrayaan 3 is a significant mission for India as it will be the country's second attempt at a soft landing on the moon. The success of the mission will further consolidate India's position as a space power and will inspire future generations of scientists and engineers.

  8. CONCLUSION Chandrayaan 3 is a challenging but ambitious mission that has the potential to make significant contributions to our understanding of the moon. The success of the mission will be a major milestone for India's space program and will help to position the country as a leading player in the global space race.
