  1. Hanuman Idol for car Dashboard Lord Hanuman is one of the most loved gods among Hindus worshipped by a huge number of devotees across India and the world. People refer to him to as 'Bajrang Bali', 'Maruti' and 'Anjaneya', three of the 108 names that he is known by. Some of the most visited shrines in India built for him are the Sankat Mochan Temple in Varanasi, Sri Anjaneyar Temple in Ambur, Tamil Nadu and Jakhu temple in Shimla. There is also a 'Dattatreya Temple' in central Trinidad which has an eighty five feet tall statue of the most loved god. Anjaneya was born to 'vanaras' or a 'monkey-like race'. Anjaneya is also called as 'Pavan Putra' as lord Pavan, god of wind played a vital role in the birth of Anjaneya. Hanuman met Lord Rama during his exile in the jungle and subsequently helped save Goddess Sita from Ravana's kingdom. He single handedly helped Lakshman regain his life, bringing 'Sanjeevani' by carrying the 'Gandhamadan' mountain.

Worshippers observe Hanuman Idol Jayanti in the month of 'chaitra' which falls between March and April as per the Western calendar. People observe fasts during the festival and visit temples to offer their prayers. 'Chalisa', a special prayer which consists of 40 verses in it, is chanted by worshippers of Hanuman.

  3. Hanuman devotees are also seen donning saffron or red wrist bands and apparels. According to legend, Hanuman asked Sita why she was wearing sindhur on the forehead; she replied that it signifies Lord Rama's long life. He is considered to have coated sindhur all over his body for the happy life of Lord Rama. Several Hindus believe that Hanuman is 'chiranjeevi' or 'immortal' and is still living in caves chanting Lord Rama's name.
