Entrepreneur Sanford Mappa, known more familiarly as Sandy Mappa, has educated clients, the public, and his peers on financial matters for more than 30 years. He has also continued his own education through numerous courses and multiple certifications. The Chicago-area financial-services leader founded Mappa Financial Planning, Inc.; the Center for Identity Protection; and the American Institute for Mortgage Education, serving as President of all three entities. In these roles, Sandy Mappa advises clients on financial matters, including preserving assets, reducing taxes, and increasing net worth. He also teaches the public about reducing mortgages and avoiding identity theft. The author of A Consumer’s Guide to Identity Theft Protection, Sanford Mappa also wrote Mortgage Mistakes and Misconceptions: Proven Strategies that Prevent Homeowners from Losing a Fortune, and How to Become Mortgage Free in Ten Years or Less Without Extra Payments. In addition to previously hosting the weekly radio program Mapping Your Financial Future, he has shared his insight in the Chicago Sun-Times, Consumers Digest, and the Chicago Tribune; he has also appeared on television. Additionally, Sandy Mappa penned a column about financial planning for Lerner Newspapers in Chicago. For financial-sector professionals, including stockbrokers, insurance specialists, and mortgage brokers, he has presented seminars. Sanford Mappa has provided continuing-education coursework for Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) as well. A lifelong Chicago Bears and Bulls fan and supporter of other area teams, Mappa holds six certifications and designations, including CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CLU (Certified Life Underwriter), ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), and CCRR (Certified Credit Report Reviewer. His other designations cover health underwriting and identity-theft risk management. Sanford Mappa holds a B.A. in Accounting from DePaul University. Acknowledged for his ethics, experience, and education, he earned honors as one of only five finalists for Producer of the Year honors from Senior Market Advisor magazine/the National Ethics Bureau. Sandy Mappa’s other accolades encompass mentions by the Consumers’ Research Council of America in 2009, 2010, and 2011 on the list of America’s Top Financial Planners.
