  2. Background and Knowledge Tutorials A company or idea needs financing and this financing often comes from external sources. For raising funds through external sources, communication of the ideas to potential financiers is very important so that they are ready to invest in the proposed idea or business. This source of communication is often in the form of book/memorandum which is known as Pitch Deck. In simple words, a pitch deck (also known as a start-up or investor pitch deck), is a presentation that helps potential investors learn more about the business. Securing funding is a multi-step process. A good, informative pitch deck is the first rung on the ladder. It presents the investors with an idea that intrigues them and gets them to engage with the business plan. A pitch deck presentation usually consists of information that help to narrate a compelling story about the business. It is a marketing presentation (information layout) used by investment banks, entrepreneurs, corporate finance firms, business brokers and other M&A intermediaries advising on the sale or disposal of the shares or assets of a business. It consists of a careful arrangement and analysis of the investment considerations of the client business and is presented to investors and potential investors with the intent of providing them the information necessary for them to make a decision to buy or invest in the client business. The key areas covered in a typical pitch book include information on the investment highlights, key financial figures, the company's core customers and diversification of the customer base, barriers to entry for competitors, ability and plan to achieve future projections, future growth opportunities, strength of management team, scalability of operations, opportunities in the external market place and known risks. 3. Key elements of a Pitch Deck Tutorials Vision and value proposition: An overview of the business and the value that it provides to its customers. The Problem: Every business starts with the intention to solve a problem in the world. The more the problem is real, the more the investors will understand the business ideas and goals. Target market and opportunity: Detailed information about the target customer, the market size, current and proposed market standing. Product and Service Description: This relates to describing the product or service, how customers will use the product and how it will addresses the problems that are outlined. Revenue model or business model: This part talks more about how the business will make money and pricing strategies. Traction and validation/roadmap: A thought process pen downed as to milestones the business intends to cover. This includes what major goals have been achieved so far and what are the next major steps the business would be taking. Marketing and sales strategy: Detailed information outlining the marketing and sales plan. It includes the key tactics that the company intends to use to get the product in front of prospective customers. Team: Choosing the right people is extremely important who actually imbibe within themselves to add value to the company and grow with the company. Here, the key positions are identified and detailed as to why those positions are critical to company growth. Financials: Investors will expect to see the financials: sales forecast, income statement (also called profit and loss statement), and cash flow forecast for at least three years. But, for pitch deck, a crisp graphical presentation indicating the financials works great. Competition: Every business has competition in one form or another. The key here is explaining how the company is different from other players in the market. Other documentation: Information should not be overburdened, but should be clear to attract the investors. Other documents that serve as win over other possible competitors should not be missed, Business Commencement OPC Disclosures Extra Ordinary General Meeting Private Limited Company Appointment of MD Transfer Company Appointing CS DPIIT Registration MSME Registration Trademark Registration Annual Compliances Copyright Registration Share Valuation Report Agreements
