  1. For everyone born of God overcomes(nikao – conquers) the world. Our faith is the victory(nike – victory) that has overcome(nikao – conquered) the world. 1 John 5:4

  2. Death has been swallowed up in victory(nikos – victory, to utterly vanquish). Where, O death, is your victory(nikos)? Where, O death, is your sting? But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory(nikos) through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:54, 55, 57

  3. 1 Corinthians 15:1-11 Christ rose from the dead – with a glorified body. (And the Corinthians believed this.) • 1 Corinthians 15:12-34 Christians, also, will one day rise – with a glorified body. (But the Corinthians didn’t believe this.)

  6. 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 • If Christ didn’t rise from the dead: • our preaching is useless • our faith is useless • we are liars for preaching Christ’s resurrection • we’re still in our sins • Christians who have died are still lost • we should be pitied more than everyone if all that Christ does for us is only for this life.

  8. If you’ve already overcome death…let that gift of life capture you…change you…give you joy…give you perspective! If you’ve not yet overcome death…ask Jesus today to give you life!
