A dryer can be of various types such as: Hair dryer. Tray dryer. Hand dryer. Tumble dryer. Belt dryer. Cereal dryer. Grain dryer. And many others which are not listed above. So let’s explain any one type of dryer but here our main purpose is to understand tray dryer. A tray dryer is a specially designed machine which is used to dry the pharmaceuticals, foods, chemicals, paints, textiles and in many other industries. Basically, this dryer is used to dry the wet products of the crude drugs, chemicals etc.

  2. These dryers are heated with the help of electricity and steam. The tray dryer consists of many trays such as 6 trays, 12 trays, 24 trays, 48 trays, 96 trays, and 192 trays. This machine is constructed as per the customer demands. It varies as per the customer’s requirement. Depending upon the requirement of product and industry, this machine can be inside-outside MS model or GMP model. This dryer is used widely but mostly at those places where the content of the moisture is more and where the product has to be dried for the long hours at low temperature. Tray dryer is the most conventional dryer. This dryer is the most general method of preparing the tablets. This method of preparation is also known as the wet-granulation method. This method is also popular due to granulation because, for the compression of good tablets, the granulation will meet all the physical requirements. These dryers are used to remove the liquid or the moisture present in the solid, powder, or any other substance. These are divided into two main types: 1.Direct: These dryers heat the product due to the direct contact of heated air or gas. 2.Indirect: These dryers heat the product due to the contact with the wall which is also heated. Tray dryer’s manufacturer used the tray dryers for the best results of drying in the process of the conventional method. The cabinet of this dryer is double walled which may have a single or double door. It is enclosed in a chamber named as an isolated chamber. The trays are placed on the top of each other in the trolleys. The material which is to be dried is then placed in these trolleys. Then by circulation of hot air, the heat is transferred by electric heaters or the steam heaters in the radiator coil. There is a control panel present which is used to control the temperature and other parameters which are fixed outside the dryers. Tray dryers are the best dryer to use in the industries wherever the heating and drying is necessary for the process of manufacturing because they dry the products very fast and in a fine manner. So these features make this dryer more considerable and recommendable especially in the preparation of the tablets.
