What is cut off marks? Cut off marks is the minimum marks that a student is required to get admission in any particular university, Although cut off marks of every
university is different, It depends on their teaching standard, those colleges or university who are famous set their cut off marks very high, only few students get selected for that. According as cut off marks, cut off list is published where you can check whether you are selected to take admission or not. How cutoff system works in Delhi University. The cutoff of Delhi University is different for different types of course; I am giving you some of the eligibility criteria of some courses. DU Eligibility Criteria for UG Courses: 1. Minimum qualification is 12th passed/appearing with 75% aggregate of best four including 85% in English for general category. 2. A general candidate required Minimum of 60% in four subjects including mathematics, 54% for OBC candidates, and 48 %passing marks are required for SC/ST. DU Eligibility Criteria for PG Courses: 1. Required B. Sc in related subjects or any branch of Science or Engineering with Physics and Mathematics passed with minimum 60% aggregate marks and 50% marks for B.Sc. (Hons) students.
2. B.Tech. /B.E. Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics and Communication/ Instrumentation Engineering students must have 60% marks in their respective courses. DU Eligibility Criteria for Merit Based Selection: 1. The Minimum Percentage for B.A (Vocational) and B.Com courses should be an aggregate of 40% marks in the qualifying examination. 2.The minimum percentage for BA (Hons) and B.Com (Hons) should be an aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination, The merit of a student will be calculated on the basis of one language and three best elective subjects (List A). 3. For B.A. (Hons.) Arabic, Hindi, Persian, Punjabi, Urdu, Sanskrit, Bengali an aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination is required. Candidates securing 40% marks in the aggregate and 50% marks in the subject concerned are also eligible for admission to the relevant Honors Course.
