Advice for installing the Bunsen Air heat pump It is the responsibility of both the customer and installer to ensure that the property on which the installation will occur, has been properly surveyed to determine the feasibility of a Bunsen Air unit’s use in that location.  For peak performance, the thermodynamic panels that come as part of the Bunsen Air system, will need to be installed where they have good exposure to the natural elements.  The Bunsen Air unit should also be installed as close as possible to the hot water cylinder ­ ideally no further than 5 metres distance. The panels which are mounted externally are connected to the Bunsen unit by specialist refrigeration pipes. Therefore, consideration to the installation of this pipe work must be given. The Bunsen unit has a range of fully automatic functions which are all explained in the installation guide and in online videos. Things to consider when connecting a heat pump Things to consider are; The location of the Bunsen air controller in relation to the hot water cylinder • The most suitable location and the preferred layout for the external thermodynamic panels • Age and efficiency of the water cylinder should also be evaluated, as this is often a good opportunity to upgrade to a modern cylinder to avoid any unnecessary heat loss. •
