  1. 4 Most Commonly Experienced Gynaec Conditions by Women The majority of women, at some point or the other in their lives, experience gynaecological issues. They are medical conditions affecting the female reproductive system/organs and might as well disturb sexual functions. Women of all ages should be aware of commongynaecological conditions. The knowledge allows them to make informed decisions and visit the best gynaecologist in Ahmedabad when required. This blog explains some of the common conditions that require gynaecological intervention. Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, popularly known as PCOS, is a common condition among women. The condition is a result of hormonal imbalance and is also one of the primary reasons for infertility. Under this condition, several tiny sacs filled with fluid develop in the female ovaries. Females suffering from PCOS produce male hormones in higher amounts. It creates hormonal imbalance leading to irregular periods, and difficulty in conception. According to studies, PCOS affects about 27% of the females in their childbearing years. The condition also leads to abnormal body hair growth, especially the face. Other effects include baldness and health conditions like heart disease and diabetes.

  2. The gynaecologists will undertake examinations like ultrasound to confirm the condition and during the treatment. They will also advise check-ups for endometrial lining, diabetes, and more potential conditions. The PCOS treatment primarily includes medications to control high cholesterol and diabetes, birth control pills to regularize menstrual cycles, hormones to boost fertility, and sometimes procedures to treat abnormal hair growth. Exercising, yoga, and weight reduction might be of extreme help in relieving the condition. Genital Herpes It is one of the STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases). Women with Genital Herpes have blisters and sores near or on their genitals. Some symptoms of the condition include fever, fatigue, chills, nausea, muscle pain, and more. To treat this, gynaecologists generally recommend oral medications. Dysmenorrhoea and Amenorrhea or Painful Menstruation Amenorrhea refers to a condition wherein women don’t get their periods. The condition can be either pathological or physiological. Physiological amenorrhea can happen before puberty, during lactation and pregnancy, or post-menopause. On the other hand, pathological amenorrhea is a result of certain associated diseases. Dysmenorrhoea refers to painful periods. The condition is of two types. Primary dysmenorrhea is not related to pelvic conditions but is a disorder that can lead to secondary dysmenorrhoea. The main causes of primary dysmenorrhoea are natural chemicals and prostaglandins, whereas secondary dysmenorrhoea can result from endometriosis, fibroids, or adenomyosis. Some of the most common symptoms of the condition are cramps, abdominal pain, and lower back pain. The treatment depends on the type of condition and patient’s condition but generally includes painkillers to reduce the intensity of the pain. Vaginitis Inflammation in the vagina or vaginitis often happens to females during their reproductive phase. The condition generally results from sexual intercourse, infection, or as a side effect of spermicidal creams and antibiotic medication. But hormonal changes or imbalances can also cause vaginitis.

  3. The condition’s symptoms include itching, pain while urinating, vaginal discharge and others. The gynaecologist will recommend creams, pills, and gels to treat this. Wrapping Up The list of common gynaecological conditions that a woman may experience includes but is not limited to the ones discussed above.
