  1. Chapter 1 July14th, 2005 Emirates Airlines flight EK615, EK516 from Islamabad-Dubai-Delhi had touchdown at Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. The aircraft had turned off the active runway and was taxiing to the gate. The flight attendant announced, “Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi. Local time is 14.45 hours and the temperature is 39 degree Celsius… For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belts fastened until the Captain turns off the Fasten Seat Belt sign. This will indicate that we have parked at the gate and that it is safe for you to move about...” Meera Mehra opened her eyes, saw that people had already started taking out their bags from overhead bins, ignoring the advice of flight attendant. She remained seated on her seat. Men standing on the aisle were looking down at her from the corner of their eyes, and women with envious eyes.
