  1. How To InstallTermiPore Anti-TermiteReticulation System

  2. You Can Install TermiPore Before, During & After Construction AFTER BEFORE DURING

  3. Installing TermiPoreAfter ConstructionOn Periphery Of An Existing Building

  4. Installation On Periphery Of The Building IMPORTANT If the property is already infested with termites, treat the property properly before installing TermiPore on its periphery. TermiPore will be used for future injections and preventions. But the infestation will need to be treated as required.

  5. Installation On Periphery Of The Building • Dig a trench about 12 inches deep and 4-6 inches wide along the periphery of the building or compound wall

  6. Installation On Periphery Of The Building 2) Pour about 1 inch of gravel and sand to cover the trench soil

  7. Installation On Periphery Of The Building 3) Lay the pipe on this bed of sand. Ensure you give a new inlet for injecting - every 25 meters or so

  8. Installation On Periphery Of The Building • Connect the ends of TermiPore pipe to plain flexible pipe using an elbow or jointer. • Test the installation with water, using the same pump that you will use to inject the termiticide – ensure that you see water drops everywhere

  9. Installation On Periphery Of The Building • Make changes as needed to the distance between two inlets. This will depend on the pump used. • However the thumb rule of one inlet every 25 meters is suitable for most pumps that give at least 1 Kg pressure • Inject the termiticide in required quantity – 5 ltr / linear meter as per pre construction rules of 2.5 ltr / linear meter as per post construction standards • Close the inlet and outlet with end plugs

  10. Installation On Periphery Of The Building • Cover the Pipe with coarse sand and then again gravel on top of it

  11. Installation On Periphery Of The Building • Finally cover the entire trench again with the soil so conceal the installation • Fix the junction box on the floor or wall. You can also encase the exposed flexible pipes with hard PVC plumbing pipes

  12. Installation On Periphery Of The Building Making the trench, followed by laying gravel and sand – while keeping TermiPore kit handy

  13. Installation On Periphery Of The Building Laying TermiPore pipe on the gravel and sand bed

  14. Installation On Periphery Of The Building Testing after laying the pipe

  15. Installation On Periphery Of The Building Injecting termiticide – 125 ltr in 10 minutes, at 4 PSI in 25 mtr length of TermiPore pipe After that covering the pipes with gravel and sand

  16. Installation On Periphery Of The Building Finally again covered with soil Box Fitting

  17. Critical Points :For All Types Of Installation

  18. Critical Points To Remember • TermiPore pipes are designed for optimum flow rate upto 30 mtr. So ensure inlet box is placed every 25 to 40 meter of length of TermiPore. (there will be some difference depending on soil and site) • Ensure pipe does not bend and lock at time of installation • Ensure coarse sand is put above and below the pipe, Use cloth / geotex/ pebbles if sand is not available • Do not bring the reticulation pipe above ground. Use plain pipe where needed • Always testand cover pipe before leaving the site • Flush with 3-5 litres of clean water after injecting termiticide • Try to provide hard PVC pipe casing to any exposed flexible pipe

  19. Critical Points To Remember • TermiPore Pipe is sure to last for many years but it is essential that the injecting outlets also last that long. • Hence always use good quality branded junction boxes and if possible use GI or Brass nipples, instead of a plain plastic inlet/outlet pipes • Before leaving site, close all pipe openings with end plugs so no insect or dust enters the pipes.

  20. This information is also available on TermiPore Brochure

  21. Injecting Termiticide In TermiPore

  22. Injecting Termiticide In TermiPore • Injecting termiticide is very easy and fast • Pressure required is approximately 1 Kg/cm2 or 1 Bar • You can use a 0.5 HP or 1 HP pump Or a portable battery-operated pesticide sprayer

  23. Injecting Termiticide In TermiPore • Prepare the required quantity of termiticide in a container – calculate the required quantity for each injection point • The quantity and dilution are to be as per post construction standards • As per IS 6313, you can consider approximately 2.25 ltr per running meter of TermiPore in case of post construction treatment. In some countries it is 5 ltr per mtr

  24. Step-by-step Description Of Injection Process Step 1: Open the junction box and ensure that the outlet pipe or nipplesare in good shape. If they are cracked or disintegrated, replace thembefore injecting termiticide Step 2: Connect any one of the pipes to the jointer/nipple of the pump Step 3: Note the level of termiticide in the container and start the pump / sprayer .

  25. Step-by-step Description Of Injection Process Step 4 : You will see the level of termiticide going down in the container. Close this outlet now with a plug, so pressure can develop in TermiPore Pipe Step 5: If the length of the pipe from that particular injection point is less than 100 feet, then in a few minutes, you should see the termiticide come out from the other end of the pipe

  26. Step-by-step Description Of Injection Process Step 6: Keep injecting till the calculated quantity is injected. The termiticide will be evenly distributed throughout the length of the TermiPore system. This process should take about 15 to 20 minutes per room if a small size pump is used. It will be faster if a bigger pump is used. Step 7 : After the entire quantity is injected, ALWAYS flush with 3-5 litres of clean soft / RO water to remove any hard water / suspension particles that have a chance of blocking the pipe due to calcification

  27. Step-by-step Description Of Injection Process NOTE: • In case the length of the TermiPore pipe installed in that particular inlet box is longer than recommended, you might not see the termiticide come out at the other end • In such cases, once half the calculated quantity of termiticide is injected, simply switch off the pump and disconnect from the first pipe. Then reconnect it to the second pipe, so the other half of the quantity is injected through this second inlet • This way too the termiticide will be evenly distributed throughout the length of the TermiPore System.

  28. Frequently Asked Questions TermiPore FAQ

  29. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • Which option is better for installation – in soil or over PCC? • Both installations work well • If the customer has planned in advance; it is always better to install in soil AFTER doing soil treatment as per recommended standards • Even then many pest control services install over PCC since the need is to protect the building from ground up, rather than just treat the soil

  30. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • How much quantity of termipore is needed per 1000 sqft / 100 sqmtr? The quantity will vary from site to site and layout to layout. However as a thumb rule : • In soil installation, consider 1 roll pf 125 meter sufficient for 1000 sqft / 100 sqmtr • Over PCC under tiles, please 1 roll pf 125 meter sufficient for 1500 sqft / 150 sqmtr • In installation around the periphery please measure the periphery running / linear meters to get the required quantity

  31. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • Is the grid type layout with pipes in between better or is it better to just install along the borders? • If installing in soil, it is better to go for a 4 x 4 feet grid network since that will properly treat the soil multiple times. • If installed over PCC this may not be needed and just along the border maybe enough. But it will still help if you install in between, because micro holes in the slab / pcc or near columns may still allow termites through the floor.

  32. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • Can we install TermiPore only at ground level or even on other floors? • Termites can creep to higher floors through the smallest micro hole in the columns • Termites can also creep in via electrical wiring and sewage line and micro cracks in the floor • Furthermore, various other materials used in plumbing, civil, electrical, etc. may contain termites even at the time of construction • Termites can also come through vegetation in the house, surrounding trees, etc. • Experience of PCOs has shown that often termite treatments need to be done on higher floors • TermiPore is a ready to use piping system for such cases, where you do not need to drill and inject

  33. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • What is the difference in various sizes of TermiPore? • Different markets prefer different sizes depending on where the pipe is laid – in soil or over PCC • 14 mm and 17 mm are generally preferred over PCC. While the 17 mm and 19 mm sizes are preferred where installation is to be done in the soil

  34. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • How much termiticide do we need to inject after installing TermiPore? • The amount of termiticide, the frequency and the type of termiticide is to be injected as per construction standard (for example IS 6313 in India or AS 3660.1 in Australia) or as per the construction standards or as recommended by the termiticide manufacturer • In many standards, it is recommended that you use 5 ltr / sq mtr of horizontal area in pre construction and 2.25 ltr to 5 ltr / running meter in post construction installation • Anti termite reticulation system is a delivery method and does not change the termiticide, dilution, quantity or frequency of use

  35. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • If we find that the injection is taking time after a few years, what to do? • In some rare cases, due to use of hard water or large suspension particles, you may find that injection takes time. • To solve this, increase the pump pressure and you will find the termticide flowing as expected • You can also use mild acid diluted with water and inject it in the pipe and keep it for 2-3 days to remove the calcification. This will then open up all pores and make the pipe as good as new (The acid is to be very mild to not damage the surrounding of the pipe, hence the recommended time to keep it in the pipe is long)

  36. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • Will TermiPore work with / get blocked if we use EC or SC? • TermiPore is tested with suspension concentrate and emulsion concentrate termiticides and does not get blocked with either of them. However proper mixing of SC with pump, till it is a white liquid without any suspension particles visible, is necessary when using SC • Ensure that clean soft low TDS water is used to dilute the termiticide and also used for flushing the pipes clean immediately after the injection • In case hard water is used in dilution, it may block the pipe after a few years. You can easily open the holes without damaging TermiPore material, by injecting and flushing it with diluted acid

  37. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • Which pump is to be used for injecting termiticides in TermiPore? • A 1 HP Monobloc pump with a tee / release valve to control the pressure and quantity of termiticide to inject, is suitable for a wide range of installations • You can use a battery-operated sprayer as well • You can view videos of termiticide injection on www.YouTube.com/termipore

  38. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • What is the pressure required to inject the termiticide? • TermiPore works between 0.5 to 1.5 bar – so an average of 1.0 bar will be a good enough pressure to inject • The lower the pressure, the further will the termiticide go, but it will take that much longer to inject the quantity • Hence, you can start at 0.5 bar and then when termiticide comes out the other end, plug it and increase pressure as required • The pipe has holes all around so there is no possibility of bursting or high pressure developing in the system to damage the joints

  39. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • How long will it take to inject 100 liters termiticide? • Every injection point should take about 15 to 20 minutes to inject the required quantity • You can refer to the chart as a reference, but it is provided to give only an estimate for the time taken to inject • However, there will be substantial difference in time based on soil (sandy, loamy, black, etc.), size used, pressure and pump used, distance between inlets, etc.

  40. Anti-termite Reticulation System Frequently asked questions • What is the life of these pipes? • The pipe should last around 30-50 years depending on soil condition • TermiPore pipe was tested in an accelerated weathering test chamber. It had only 10% reduction in its tensile strength and elongation, after prolonged testing in that chamber. • We can safely say it will last long enough once concealed underground • However, the inlet pipes at the junction box will also need to last that long, hence we recommend using brass nipples / couplings as inlets

  41. Here is a quick glance at Installation Dos and Don’ts: Don’ts • Do not allow direct contact between wet cement and TermiPore Pipe • Do not bring TermiPore Pipe all the way to the injection point in the junction box; use a plain plastic pipe or metal jointers for that • Do not leave the pipe exposed or its ends open exposed after installing / injecting • Do not bend or fix so tight that it squeezes the pipe Dos • Always cover the pipe with sand – both above and below it • Plan an injection point at every 25-40 meters of TermiPore Pipe • Use a pump of 1hp/0.5 kg/cm2 to inject termiticide. • Always inject and test before covering the pipe and leaving the site • Always flush the pipe with clean soft water / RO water after injecting termiticide and close the pipe with plug
