  1. About Canada Canada, second largest country in the world in area (after Russia), occupying roughly the northern two-fifths of the continent of North America. Canada is officially bilingual in English and French, reflecting the country’s history as ground once contested by two of Europe’s great powers.

  2. Cultural Life Canadian culture is a mixture of British, French, and American influences, all of which blend and sometimes compete in every aspect of cultural life, from filmmaking and writing to cooking and playing sports. Most provincial governments provide some form of financial assistance for the arts and for cultural organizations within their borders, and many have advisory and funding councils for the arts.

  3. Calgary, Canada The largest city in Alberta, Calgary is situated between the Canadian Prairies and the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.

  4. Ottawa, Canada Located at the confluence of the Ottawa, Gatineau and Rideau rivers in southeastern Ontario, Ottawa is the capital of Canada.

  5. Whistler, Canada Whistler is a two-hour trip from Vancouver along Canada’s most scenic drive, the Sea-to-Sky Highway. At the base of the two mountains are three quaint villages, Whistler Village, Creekside and Upper Village.

  6. Quebec City, Canada Quebec City may be the capital of the Quebec province in eastern Canada, but its French heritage, architecture and language make it appear more like a charming European village.

  7. Toronto, Canada The capital of Ontario, Toronto is the most populated city in Canada as well as one of the largest cities in North America. With a large number of ethnic districts like Chinatown, Little India and Little Italy, Toronto is also one of the world’s most culturally diverse cities.

  8. Montreal, Canada Montreal’s main sights include downtown skyscrapers like the Olympic Tower, the historic buildings of Old Montreal and several family attractions like theme and water parks.

  9. Vancouver, Canada Vancouver is one of the most popular places to visit in Canada. Vancouver’s star attraction is Stanley Park which covers a huge area of woodlands, gardens and green spaces.

  10. Climate, Canada Because of its great latitudinal extent, Canada has a wide variety of climates. Ocean currents play an important role, with both the warm waters of the Gulf Stream in the Atlantic and the Alaska Current in the Pacific affecting climate. Canada’s snowfall does not follow the same pattern as rainfall.

  11. Economy, Canada The early settlement and growth of Canada depended on exploiting and exporting the country’s vast natural resources. Canadian agriculture is firmly private, but it has come to depend on government subsidies in order to compete with the highly subsidized agricultural sectors of the European Union (EU) and the United States.

  12. Demography, Canada There are a high number of people living here in Canada who have been born in a different country, particularly from Asia. In terms of the language spoken; English is the main language, followed by French, Punjabi, Italian, German and many others. Read more About Canada
