  1. LASIK Eye Surgery

  2. LASIK - What is It? • LASIK surgery, also known as Traditional or Conventional LASIK, is an FDA approved, safe, and effective way to treat many vision correction problems. • Using the Traditional LASIK procedure, the patient’s visual prescription is measured using the same method that would determine their prescription for eye glasses and contact lenses.

  3. The Most Common Elective Procedure • The results of LASIK will improve your vision to reduce, and in most cases eliminate, the need for eyeglasses or contact lenses. • The results of the LASIK procedure can usually be noticed within 24 hours. • Like most types of refractive eye surgery, LASIK reshapes the cornea to allow the light entering the eye to be specifically focused on the proper part of the retina to obtain clearer vision.

  4. Is LASIK Right for You? • During the Custom LASIK procedure, a comprehensive map of the patient’s eye is created, while Traditional LASIK relies on feedback from less detailed measurements. • Traditional LASIK surgery is effective for treating lower-order aberrations, such as myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. • Custom LASIK treats lower-order aberrations as well as higher-order aberrations, which can help minimize complications such as halos, glare and starbursts.

  5. Risks • Higher-order aberrations:- Higher-order aberrations are visual problems that require special testing for diagnosis and are not corrected with normal spectacles (eyeglasses). • Dry eyes:- 95% of patients report dry eye symptoms after LASIK Although it is usually temporary it can develop into chronic and severe dry eye syndrome.

  6. FDA's position • In October 2009, the FDA, the National Eye Institute (NEI), and the Department of Defense (DoD) launched the LASIK Quality of Life Collaboration Project (LQOLCP) to help better understand the potential risk of severe problems that can result from LASIK in response to widespread reports of problems experienced by patients after LASIK laser eye surgery.

  7. Process • Contact lenses • Pre-operative examination and education • Flap creation • Laser remodeling • Repositioning of the flap • Postoperative care:- Patients are usually given a course of antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops. These are continued in the weeks following surgery.

  8. Wavefront-guided • Wavefront-guided LASIK is a variation of LASIK surgery in which, rather than applying a simple correction of only long/short-sightedness and astigmatism (only lower order aberrations as in traditional LASIK), an ophthalmologist applies a spatially varying correction, guiding the computer-controlled excimer laser with measurements from a wavefront sensor.

  9. Before LASIK Surgery • You will need to choose a LASIK surgeon and have a thorough LASIK surgery evaluation to determine if you are a good candidate for LASIK surgery. • As part of the LASIK surgery exam, you will fill out forms and answer questions related to any health problems you may have. • Certain health issues, such as chronically dry eyes, can disqualify you from being a candidate for LASIK surgery and other laser eye procedures.

  10. After LASIK Surgery • After LASIK eye surgery, your vision most likely will be significantly better however may not be clear for the first several hours. • For the first few hours after LASIK, you will likely experience a slight sensation similar to having an eyelash in your eye. • If you experience some discomfort after the LASIK surgery you may take Tylenol, Advil, Motrin or similar pain relievers.

  11. Lasik Eye Surgery Bangalore Cost • The customised Femtosecont Lasik can cost you from Rs. 80000 to Rs. 90000 for both the eyes that means you have to pay approximately 1300 Euro or 1600 USD. • Now people across the globe are seeking Lasik Eye Surgery Bangalore Clinic Details so that they can make way for the best eye treatment. http://lasikeyesurgerybangalore.in/
