  3. QR code or quick response code is compulsory on all invoices to provide streamlined access to GST invoices. It is a two-dimensional barcode that is machine-readable and thanks to APIs and verification apps, helps taxpayers and authorities to validate the authenticity of eInvoice. The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has made eInvoicing mandatory for taxpayers and businesses that exceed an annual turnover of over 100 cr. As per the eInvoicing standards, you need to generate B2B invoices as per the eInvoice schema and upload them to Invoice Registration Portal (IRP) for validation. IRP will verify details uploaded in the invoice and then digitally sign the invoice and share eInvoice for authentication via QR code and Invoice Reference Number (IRN). If the correct QR code isn’t included in the invoice, the authority will consider it invalid, which can lead to heavy penalties. That’s why it is important to use eInvoice QR code app that can perform bulk eInvoice operations, followed by the contents of the QR code. www.taxpro.co.in

  4. Contents of QR Code GSTIN of supplier Invoice number, given by the supplier Date of invoice generation GSTIN of recipient Invoice value Number of line items HSN code of main items Unique invoice reference number Digital signature of IRP Ways to Verify QR Code As we have discussed above, it is mandatory to include all QR code contents in the invoice. Verification of QR codes can further help users to authenticate the validity of the invoice. There are two ways to verify eInvoice on the QR code app: Scanning the QR code Uploading the JSON file www.taxpro.co.in

  5. eInvoice Verification System Verify QR code – It allows you to scan the QR code of eInvoice, verify the digital signature and present the signed content. Verify signed eInvoice – It allows you to upload the signed eInvoice JSON and verify the digital signature of the invoice and display the signed content. Invoice Print Shifted to QR Code on Invoice eInvoicing under GST made an innovative entry into the Indian taxation system by being mandatory for taxpayers/businesses with an annual turnover of the stated threshold. Owing to fraudulent practices on account of fake invoices, it is expected that soon eInvoice mandate will extend to all taxpayers. The process started with granular reporting in standard format under GST. This shifted to attaining a unique reference number – eWay Bill, for high volume and interstate movement of goods registered in eInvoice. Not all documents and transactions are covered in eInvoicing. The current scenario includes invoices, and debit and credit notes issued to registered parties. www.taxpro.co.in

  6. The eInvoice mandate also enables the print of invoice, either digitally or physically, to continue as per entities' preferences. However, one thing that needs to be well taken care of is the QR code included on the print copy. QR code can be placed anywhere on the invoice and the size should be large enough so scanning apps can read and process the QR code Conclusion eInvoice concept is here to stay and thus, businesses need to be prepared for this innovation and adopt technological solutions for generating eInvoices and verifying the QR code. The primary step is to find a reliable eInvoice service provider to fulfill your B2B invoice requirements and remain in compliance.
