  1. Ayurvedic treatment for glaucoma. A medical condi,on that damages the op,c nerve is called glaucoma or increased intraocular tension in medical parlance. Glaucoma refers to a group of eye condi,ons that can damage the op,c nerve. This damage is caused by intraocular (eye) pressure. There is no age limit for glaucoma. Glaucoma can affect anyone at any age, but most o?en occurs in people over the age of 60. That is, the risk of glaucoma in people over 60 years of age is higher than in others. Glaucoma is a difficult eye disease to diagnose. And the disease worsens with age. Regular eye exams can help prevent vision loss. If people with glaucoma are not treated for a long ,me, blindness or vision loss may occur. Because of this, early diagnosis is important. The risk factors for glaucoma are: • Age over 60 • Glaucoma can run in families • Presen,ng thin corneas • Eye injuries • High intraocular Pressure • Par,cular eye surgeries • Ethnici,es like Asian, Black, Hispanic, etc. • Myopia and Hyperopia • Use of cor,costeroids for a prolonged period is not recommended • Various medical condi,ons such as Diabetes, Sickle Cell Anemia and Cardiovascular Disease.
