  2. Light Weight Structure Size of Members: • Foundation Design: • Due to light weight steel construction requires only shallow foundation with a very simple design characteristics. A monolithic slab is the best foundation for Light Gauge Steel Frame building. • Due to heavy weight concrete construction requires a deep foundation with tedious design characteristics. Cross Section area of structural member in Rcc structure is more which ends eating more floor space, making the structure more dense which ultimately add up to the weight of the building. Cross Section area of structural members in the structural steel is much lesser which provides us with more utilisable space on the floor cutting the self weight of the structure. Steel being well supported by a well developed and efficient scrap collection infrastructure. It can be recycled to form products that are of the same or higher standard and quality as the original material.

Benefits against Nature Earthquake : In case of Steel Construction , • Even at high magnitude earthquake, the damage would be only revealed on cladding no structural damage or collapse occurs due to light weight. • The reason it resists earthquake is the reduction in weight of the structure and so the building can vibrate to its extent and due to the higher elasticity index ,the steel comes to its original state after some vibration. Steel Building even of six storey, can withstand the lateral forces of 9.0 magnitude earthquake R.C.C. Construction • A high magnitude earthquake can even collapse the whole structure due to the main reason behind is poor quality of workmanship and negligence. • The main reason for collapse is due to the presence of honeycomb (un vibrated Concrete) which is being finished by sand and cement mortar can create a major issue at the time of ground motion.

Benefits against Nature Heavy Rainfall : R.C.C.Construction is heavily delayed and affected due to rainfall. • The process of strengthening(drying) post-concrete pouring requires proper sunlight. • The porous nature of concrete allows the water to seep in and cause slow but hazardous damage to the structure. • The damages of a rainfall cannot be seen instantly. In case of steel , • There isn’t a strengthening with time factor involved - thus , though it’s difficult to work on-site during rainfall , the work can be resumed instantly post the shower. • The damages are clearly visible , as the steel is exposed and thus can be taken care of. • The off-site production can be continued.
