  2. German work-life balance coupled with plenty of promising career prospects and a high-quality lifestyle is enough to make skilled workers make this economic powerhouse their new abode. But, before you start working here, you must have a valid visa and a German EU Blue Card too. There are many ways to get a visa, for example, working in an in-demand occupation or earning a highly-advanced degree can be a sure-shot way to win this EU Blue Card game. Sounds complicated? No worries, we promise that everything will make sense once you finish reading this article. You will know exactly what needs to be done to live your European dream.

  3. Do I need a visa to enter Germany? If you are an EU or EEA member country national, you don’t need a visa for employment before traveling to Germany. You may come to German and stay there for 90 days to 180 days to look for jobs. A valid ID proof is enough for you to enter Germany. Apart from citizens of the European Union, people coming from Australia, Canada, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, South Korea, and the USA can come to Germany with no visa for 90 days. However, you must get a long-term residence permit before you take up employment in Germany. You also have to apply for a residence permit for work within three months of arriving in Germany.

  4. Non-EU Residents • If you are from a Non-EU or EEA country or countries that are not mentioned above, you must apply for a visa from your home country before you plan to migrate to Germany and work there. And, once you reach there, you will have to switch your visa to a residence permit. • German job seeker visa • EU Blue Card • German work visa for highly-skilled employees • Visa for IT specialists • Self-Employment Visa

  5. German Job Seeker Visa If you don’t have a job offer, don’t panic! This is the right visa for you. A job seeker visa allows you to move to Germany to search for a job that matches your skills, work experience, and qualifications. With this visa, you can stay in Germany for up to 12 months. EU Blue Card If you are a highly skilled worker with a job offer in a shortage industry, you may be eligible to apply for an EU Blue Card. The benefit of this card lies in its quick-processing times compared to any other types of residence permits. Moreover, you can apply for a permanent residency after 33 months of working there and submitting proof of an A1 level in German language. For individuals with level B1, they can get the settlement permit after 21 months.
