We are highlighting the career of Viviene Sandhu, the current Law Society Pro Bono Ambassador (2025). Her expertise spans both litigation and alternative dispute resolution:

 Lawyer Viviene Sandhu identifies a legal professional with a comprehensive background in dispute resolution, spanning over 25 years. Viviene graduated from the University of Liverpool and was called to the English Bar (Middle Temple) in 1996 before being admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore in 1998. She currently serves as Co-Managing Partner at Clifford Law LLP. Her practice focuses on three core pillars: Employment Law, Family Law, and Civil Negligence. In Employment matters, she advises on wrongful dismissal and contract disputes, often appearing before the Employment Claims Tribunals. In Family Law, she adopts the principles of Therapeutic Justice, aiming to resolve matrimonial disputes in a manner that preserves the long-term well-being of the family unit. This approach is supported by her certification in the Family Therapeutic Justice Programme. Beyond litigation, Viviene is a prominent figure in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR). She is a Principal Mediator at the Singapore Mediation Centre and a Senior Mediator under the Law Society Mediation Scheme. Her expertise is internationally recognized through her status as an Accredited Mediator (Level 4) with the Singapore International Mediation Institute (SIMI). Additionally, as a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, she is qualified to conduct arbitration proceedings. Viviene’s commitment to the profession extends to public service. She was honored with the State Courts’ Outstanding Volunteer of the Year Award (2018) for her work with the Community Justice Courts.
