  1. Lock Down: Cash Boom or Slow Poison

  2. We’re deep into the lock down and we don’t know when it’s going to end. There’s a chance this might go on for a long time, so it’s best to make contingency plans. One of the best ways to make every night feel like a Saturday night is to play poker online with friends. Do you Play Poker Online? While most of us have been asking this question to everyone who seems to be bored with the lock down, the inner shark within us just wants new fish to devour in these trying times.

  3. Poker Sites in India and Overseas have seen a massive surge in numbers after our PM enforced the lock down nationwide for 21 days. The effect of this surge has been so much so that flagship tourneys have seen a 20 – 40% increase in entries. Sites across have boosted the guarantees and introduced new high value tourneys early in the evening.PokerBaazi: Introduced new 4pm Tournaments Spartan/FTR: Millionaire Tourney almost every week

  4. Poker Stars (India): New 4pm tourneys and boosted GTDs Poker Stars (International): Sunday Million GTD boosted to 2 Million (numbers crossed 3 Million) Party Poker: Extended Power Fest twice. But the questions which do make us ponder are, Will it last? Is it sustainable? As new cash flow for recreational players has halted or taken a hit due to this lock down, the rags have made sure to swoop in on this opportunity and make the most of it.

  5. What, then, might happen after society returns to normal? Well, one problem is that we do not know when that will happen, nor if it will happen. That might sound like scaremongering, but there are likely to be so many changes to our work and social lives in the future. Many of us, for example, might end up continuing to work from home long after it has been deemed safe to return back to the office.

  6. But you might imagine that many players will opt to stay with poker sites long after their lives have returned to being ‘almost normal’. This should be seen as a positive for lovers of the game, and its great news for a side of the industry that has had a few knocks down the years. Bigger prizes, more players, more fish – it’s a small victory in a difficult time. But we shouldn’t forget the social side of things. keeping people connected through the game in a time of physical disconnection. That’s a big win for everyone!
