  1. 10 Interesting Facts About Brasilia Here are some facts about Brasilia which only a handful of people know Brasilia is the seat of the government of the Federal District founded by President JuscelinoKubitschek on April 21, 1960. It is estimated to be the 3rd most populated region of Brazil and amongst the Latin American cities with the highest GDP ratio. It was originally a planned city by Lucio Cosat, Joaquim Cardozo and Oscar Niemeyer in 1956.

Brasilia was the host city of the 2014 FIFA World Cup, 2016 Summer Olympics, 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.
