  2. 17–4ph Stainless Steel is one of the original precipitation hardened grades developed in the 50s. Primarily comprised of 17% chromium, 4% nickel, 4% copper, with the balance being iron. Other characteristics include high strength, toughness, and quality mechanical properties at temperatures up to 600° F. Engineers and designers frequently choose Stainless Steel 17–4ph due to its high strength and superior corrosion resistance when compared to many other stainless steels.   3. Aamor 17–4 Stainless Steel Bars offers the following benefits: 1. Higher Corrosion Resistance — Aamor 17–4 is engineered for use in severe service applications, quite like grade 316L. Most commercial stainless steel grades offer corrosion resistance but lack strength, whilst most alloy steels have strength but they lack corrosion resistance. Aamor 17–4 offers good resistance to sulfide stress cracking at Rockwell C 33 maximum hardness as per NACE MR-01–75. 2. Higher Strength — Aamor 17–4 is a thermally hardened martensitic stainless alloy. It offers similar strength levels as 4140QT alloy with approx. 140KSI tensile strength. Aamor 17–4 is thermally treated, the hardness and strength properties remain virtually constant, from the smallest to the largest bars. 3. Precision Straightened — Aamor 17–4 has been specifically designed as a perfect solution for pump shaft applications, especially in highly corrosive environments. It has higher strength, machines easily, and stays straight during machining. Aamor 17–4 Round Bars are well-suited for stringent environments that require tough strength and good resistance. As a special type of stainless steel grade, it can be perfect for both functional and sophisticated uses that require high fatigue strength, stress, seizing, corrosion resistance, and galling resistance. Aamor 17–4 is certified to Aerospace AS 9100-C and conforms to AMS 5643R, DIN EN 10088–3 and ASTM A564.
