  2. PLACEMENT Persistent Misbehavior - 45 days • A student can only be placed for persistent misbehavior one time within the calendar year. • Example: Johnny was placed in 0ct. 08, he may not return until Oct. 09 Mandatory Placement – 15 to 30 days

  3. Level System (Page 3 in purple section) Level 0 • Reality check • Students must earn their way out Levels 1-4 • No longer mainstreamed • Increased supervision

  4. Daily Report & Contract (Last two pages in the purple section) Daily Report • Student ownership of behavior goal • Teachable moment is created Contract • New format • Assists with tracking behavior

  5. SOS PROCEDURES BEFORE PLACEMENT MAY BEGIN • Placement Notification - Parent Letters **home schools contact Gloria Cooper for an example • Complete all Intake paperwork • Set up the Intake conference with SOS and the parent

  6. HOME CAMPUS RESPONSIBILITIES DURING PLACEMENT • Complete a calendar with weekly visits and list of email addresses • Record grades and benchmarks from SOS • Process bus reports • Mark attendance

  7. HOME CAMPUS RESPONSIBILITIES FOR STUDENT RETURN • Student Transition • Visit with students to help make a smooth transition • Home campus mainstreaming • Student Contract • Collaborate with SOS & Behavior Helping Teachers

  8. Code of Conduct Information • Level III offenses p. CC-15 • Persistent Misbehavior – 45 days • Drug related infraction - 3 to 6 weeks • Single serious - 3 to 6 weeks • Level IV offenses p. CC – 19 • Mandatory placement 3 to 6 weeks

Highlights of the Changes • The number of days a student may be placed is different. • Mandatory is 15 – 30 days, the same. • Persistent is 45 days. • No mainstreaming of students occurs on an SOS campus. • Students remain in SOS program the entire school day. • Successful completion will be called reaching The Zone of Success.
