Meet your Teacher • Tashna Morris (Mrs. Morris) • Have been teaching for 10 years • Originally from Jamaica • Bachelor of Arts in Language & Linguistics • Master’s Degree in Higher Education • Married and has a three year old daughter • Loves To Teach!

Number the index card on your desk 1-9 and answer the following: • Name • Name you want to be called • Address • Date of birth • Mother’s name • Mother’s phone number • Father’s name • Father’s phone number • Medical/Vision problems or other concerns

Forms The following should be on your desk: • Agenda • AUP • Student Accountability • Lunch Form • Photograph/Video form • Calendar~ in Agenda • Code of Conduct~ in Agenda

Lockers • You must purchase a lock($5) to receive a locker • If you do not have a locker you will need to carry your books to each class • Reminder: Book bags are not allowed during the day • You will have four days, including today, to purchase your lock

Policies • Tardy~ see board at the back of the room • Electronics~ are prohibited. These will be taken and turned in to the office. Parents will have to collect at the end of the day • Cell Phones~ must be in lockers. If not in locker they will be taken and parents must pick up at the office at the end of the day.

Classroom Expectations • Be prompt and prepared • Follow adult’s direction the first time • Always do your best • Respect everyone’s right to learn • Listen attentively to others • Complete assignments on time • Food, Candy or drinks are not permitted

Classroom Procedures • Come in quietly: ~ Put homework in assigned basket ~ Sharpen pencil ~ Sit down and begin warm –up activity • Student will remain seated and quiet during teacher’s instruction. • Student will raise hand if he or she needs to speak or move. Movement involving discarding of trash needs to be done before or after class.

Classroom Procedures Cont’d • Please take care of personal business before class starts. Teacher will not allow students to leave class unless it is an emergency • Bathroom breaks are scheduled and students will not be allowed to go other than the scheduled times, unless it is an EMERGENCY( 3 emergency passes)

Classroom Procedures Cont’d • Class is dismissed by the teacher and not the clock or bell. Remain seated until the teacher dismisses you. • Class movement of all student will consist of: walking on the right side of the hallway, no talking, keeping hands and feet to yourself, and no touching of the lockers or knocking on other teacher's doors.

Classroom Procedures Cont’d 8. Student should read his or her AR book, start homework assigned for the day (or previously given) or work on missing /make-up work, if class assignments are completed quickly.
