  1. Middle States Update Progress Report 2008-2009

  2. Improved Staff Development • Guest Speakers • Superintendent's Conference Day with PGCD cooperation and teacher choice.

  3. Mission Statement • A new mission statement was created by the CCM sub-committee. It was reviewed and returned to the Implementation Team for further revision. • CCM will renew its Character Education focus for the 2009-2010 school year.

  4. Information Literacy • An information literacy exit survey for 12th Graders is now regularly conducted. • Curriculum mapping software was enhanced to include a drop down screen to help meet our Information Literacy Objectives. • The Social Studies department instituted a research paper in every class for the 1st time.

  5. Implementation Team • Met monthly to conduct ongoing needs assessment and monitor progress toward meeting our goals and objectives. • The Implementation Team led the charge toward the development of new activity steps.

  6. Board of Education Presentation • At the October 2008 meeting, both co-internal coordinators were requested to present and update the board about Schreiber’s Middle States improvement plan. The board was supportive and pleased with the direction of Schreiber’s academic, character, and staff development progress.

  7. The Creation of New Action Plans and Activity Steps • Based on the Implementation Team’s recommendation and due to the success and completion of the original school-wide plans, an updated plan was formulated. • The co-internal coordinators and the principal met with each department chair and director in order to renew, re-energize and refocus department goals for the next 3 years. • Each department created new activity steps in order to reach our objectives more effectively.

  8. Mid-Point Review • The Internal Co-coordinators will be preparing all Middle States documents and plans needed for the mid-point review. The review is due by October 2009.
