HDPUG Halogen-Free Project Overview ©HDP User Group International, Inc. 2 Current project: • Halogen-Free Database – develop a searchable, online database that will contain halogen-free material sets and components offered within the industry. “One stop shop” to identify halogen-free materials, relevant properties, supplier contacts, etc. • Project now in “Proof of Concept” Phase • First implementation will be PWB Materials • Still open to members and non-members at this time

Supplier Data Results Results using a standard IPC slash sheet as a template: • Would like elevated Cu Peels Strength tested at 245C • Dk/Df values at 1, 5 and 10GHz—1MHz not useful • Would like Dk/Df values at different Humidity/Temperatures • Would like Thermal Conductivity • Would like to know if Fillers are present Is UL certification a must????? ©HDP User Group International, Inc.

  7. HF Database - Issue • Based on Isola experience, it will be difficult/impossible to get Suppliers to create and maintain a separate page of data formatted for HDP. • We will need to set up a search system based on data/information they already have and maintain

HF Database - Proposal • Create a decision tree search based on the IPC 4101 Slash Sheets • Searchers would be presented with options based on 4101 specifications • Based on their choice, they will be presented with a second set of options, a third set etc. until they either end up with just 1 slash sheet or ask to see all • They will then be given links to all the slash sheet pages remaining in their search. These pages will have a chart of the slash sheet major parameters and links to the product pages of all suppliers who offer materials meeting that slash sheets requirements • Suppliers would only need to give us list of which materials meet which slash sheets
