  2. What inspired babe to play baseball? • Babe was sent to boarding school when he was very young. He started playing baseball with his friends, and really enjoyed it. He was also very good at playing. • Babe Ruth had many friends that were very interested in baseball. This may have encouraged Babe to play. • At Babe’s school, everyone was very into baseball, and took part in the sport quite often. • Babe’s school had organized leagues for baseball, so kids of all ages at the school could play. • Babe’s school directors wanted babe to stay out of trouble, baseball was a good way to do this.

  3. Babe fails at sneaking out. Brother Dominic talks Babe into having a better attitude. Babe causes trouble around his neighborhood, and in his house. Babe meets his school directors, and gets introduced to baseball. Babe is now excellent at baseball, and is excelling at schoolwork. Sadly, Babe Ruth died on August 16th, 1948. Babe’s Timeline • Babe Ruth gets sent to St. Mary’s boarding school, because he is causing trouble around the neighborhood. Babe’s family restaurant was destroyed in a fight caused by babe, and his friends. • Babe starts playing baseball, going to school, and making friends. • Babe plays for many different school baseball teams. He is a really good catcher, who wants to improve in any way possible. • Babe gets awarded for completing his learning curriculum early. • Babe changes to a pitcher in baseball, he also is too good for his grade level's team, so he moves up to a higher grade level team. • Babe is older now, his skills in baseball, and in academics are very high. • Babe is invited to play on the Baltimore Orioles. Mr. Dunn, who was the manager of the Orioles came to St. Mary’s to invite him. • Babe switches professional teams quite often, but still loves baseball. He continues to break many records, and remain a crowd favorite. • When Babe retired from baseball, he became a baseball teacher to children in need! This was his perfect job! • Sadly, George Babe Ruth died on August 16th1948 (at age 53), due to throat cancer. Babe makes some friends, joins a baseball team as a catcher, and enjoys learning. Babe is older now. He was asked to be on a professional baseball team called the Oriels. He continues playing on many pro. teams. He enjoys helping, and donating to sick children. Babe doesn’t like his new school, so he tries to sneak out. Babe gets sent away to St. Mary’s boarding school for boys.

  4. Babe Ruth Babe’s records Babe’s personal life Babe Ruth got married to Helen Woodford in October of the year 1914. In the year 1921, Babe and Helen adopted a baby girl, and named her Dorothy, after a family friend. Babe and Helen struggle through marriage, spending most of their time separated. The couple would have gotten divorced, if it wasn't for the Catholic laws. It was 1922 when Babe found his true love, he name was Claire Hodgson. The couple did not get married, because he was still married to Helen. Claire and Babe spent their time together, but still were not married. Sadly, babe’s wife Helen died in a house fire in the year 1929. Although Babe was very sad, this meant he could marry Claire! A wedding was planned almost immediately after the tragedy. Claire quickly got Babe into good shape, by helping him work out, and eat a balanced diet. The Ruth family was now complete, with Babe’s daughter Dorothy, his wife Claire, and another girl that Claire had, named Julia. • Throughout all of his time in professional baseball, he had 94 wins, and lost 46 games! • Babe was an All-Star two years in a row. (1933, 1934) • He was a seven time World Series champion. (1915, 1916, 1918, 1923, 1927, 1928, 1932) • 12 times, Babe Ruth was an American League home run champion. • Babe was a six time RBI (runs batted in) champion. George (Babe) Ruth was, and will always be one of the world’s best baseball players. He played for many different baseball teams throughout the years. He was an inspiration to many people, and he had a special touch for helping children. Babe had an interest in helping sick kids. He would often go to the hospital and talk about baseball, and other things to make kids feel good. He was a good man, with a good swing.
