  1. Hello, lovelies! Ya, we almost cannot believe that it's already been fifteen days into the new year 2022. Ya, from the day you danced endlessly to the best music on best party speakers in town. Woof, time is literally flying but you know, what has got us so excited and pumped up today? Very true! It's about celebrating the first festival of the new year. Honestly, we can already smell the gur (jaggery) and til (sesame) melting in our mouths with love, fun, and lots of blessing. Yes, we are talking about Makar Sankranti. The day of the sun's transit into Makar (Capricorn zodiac sign), marking the end of winter and the beginning of warmer and longer days. Moreover, it is the only Indian festival that is celebrated according to solar cycles, while most festivals follow the lunar cycle of the Hindu calendar. And, the best part is that this festival is celebrated in each and every part of the country but with a different name and varying traditions. Surprised? Let us take you on a mini-tour. Punjab This vibrant land of extreme enthusiasm celebrates a two-day festival with the first day being - Lohri. A night before Sankranti, a bonfire is lit in an open space, and savouries like til, gur and popcorn and put in the fire. This marks the harvest celebration in Punjab and drips with positive energy by people doing folk dances like Bhangra and Gidda. Completely fun! Kerala

  2. God's own country and the beautiful land of houseboats celebrates Makar Sankranti as thousands flock to see the Makara Vilakku (flame on Ponnambalamedu hill) near the Sabarimala temple when the Makara Jyothi, the celestial star appears in the sky. The belief is that Lord Ayyappa Swami shows his presence in the form of this celestial lighting and blesses his devotees. This is followed by the singing of folk hymns for receiving the blessing of the Lord. Gujrat The state of delicious delicacies celebrates the day with high-spirited Kite flying and is known as “Uttarayan”. All day you'll find people on their terraces competing and eating “Undhiyu” - a spicy curry made with winter vegetables, and “Chikkis” - sweets made with til (sesame), peanuts, and jaggery. Kai Po Che! Assam Magh Bihu is a harvest festival celebrated in Assam marking the end of harvesting season with feasting lasting for a week. All week people do feasts, dancing, singing, and bonfires. The celebrations also feature traditional Assamese games such as tekeli bhonga (pot-breaking) and buffalo fighting. The night before is "Uruka", when people gather around a bonfire, cook dinner, and make merry. Tamil Nadu The south celebrates this day as one of the most important festivals of the year, Pongal. It is a four-day celebration where temples and cultural centers organize the ritual cooking of Pongal dishes, along with fairs (Pongal mela) and handicrafts, crafts, pottery, sarees, ethnic jewelry for sale. These sites hold traditional community sports such as Uri Adithal ("breaking a hanging mud pot while blindfolded"), Pallanguzhi and Kabbadi, as well as group dance and music performances. Fun! Well honestly, the list is endless. Every other state hosts fairs and worship practices near holy rivers and temples. And, not just India the festival is known to be celebrated across countries like Nepal, Bangladesh, and Pakistan too with similar traditions. But, do you know what is common in all these traditions? Something that binds us all together? It's heartfelt music and dance. Believe it or not, dance is a love language that can bring all hearts closer like never before. And, when it comes to shaking your feet you should not compromise with low quality or feeble tones. You and your auspicious festival deserve the best party speaker with stereo bass, energetic woofer, truly wireless connection, varying modes, and most fascinating speaker with mic all packaged into a single product - Clubber by Mobilla.
