  2. What is skeletal system made of?

  3. When a bone is broken • Call for any help around (e.g. parents)(ambulance if severe) • Do not move if severe • Remove and jewellery or watches if near broken bone • If broken finger or toe, wrap the broken finger/toe to the next one. • Put ice in plastic, wrap with towel and apply at area. • See the DOCTOR!

  4. What are bones for? • In your tables, come up with a list of what bones are for. • Giving shape – Bones grow and change like other body parts • Protection – e.g. lungs, brain • Enable movement – tendons and ligaments help • Produce blood (and cells of immune system) • Transfer sound – 3 bones in ears • Store minerals (e.g. Calcium)

In your groups, you will match bone(s) to the correct body parts. • Each group will have 1 turn. • Correct = 2 points • Wrong = 0 points (and one other group can answer the question) • If the other group is correct, get 2 points. If wrong, minus 1 point • Not all bones match the human body. Some are animal bones. If you think they are animal bones, you must say so to get the points. • The group with the most points at the end is the winner.
