  3. 1. e-BusinessTrend • The business volume of domestic e-Business in 2010 increased by 22.6% compared to the previous year. (2009 : USD 672 billion → 2010 : USD 824 billion) • B2B has the highest growth rate at 26%, particularly, manufacturing shows the exceptional 35.5% growth. • 1.1 e-Commerce by the Type of Customer • - While the business volume of B2B and B2C increased 26% and 32.9% • respectively, B2G decreased by 11.2%, compared to the previous year. • A marked decrease of construction works is the reason why the total • volume of B2G was down Source: Statistics Korea, 2011, $1 USD ≈1,000 KRW

  4. 1. 2 B2B e-Commerce - The total business volume of B2B e-Commerce was around 747 billion dollars. manufacturing (35.5%), wholesale and retail trade (20.4%), construction (8.3%) and information and communication (26%) were increased, on the other hand electricity · gas · water supply (-6.5%) and transportation (-41.5%) were decreased.   5. 2. ebXML • Government electronic document distribution support center (GDOC) in 1998 - It had changed the electronic document box and distribution system with international standard (ebXML), which enables mediator systems to process electronic documents transferred to the electronic document box. - The average rate of electronic approval in administration agencies reached up to 98.2% and the rate of electronic document distribution was 97.3% in December 2010, which showed increasing rates of use compared to 92.6% and 82.3% in 2002 respectively.

  6. 3. Electronic Tax Bill • Korean government allowed an electronic tax bill in 2001. The electronic tax bill has been popularized and spread in big and ASP companies. Multiple ASP companies have provided the electronic tax bill services and created the electronic tax bill market for about 8 years. National Tax Service (NTS), Korea government agency for tax service, established the law for electronic tax bill for applying it nation-wide in December 2008. 4. e-Government SOA services • Korea Government has adopted SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) technology in electronic government systems and, as a result introduction SOA in the public sector, SOA based services are now increasing continuously. The services are applied to government information inquiry, statistics, and weather information, etc, of which number is over 103.
