Another French Revolution • Charles X issues the July Ordinances. • July Revolution- • People start a rebellion and Charles flees to Britain. • Louis-Philippe (bourgeois monarch) becomes new King of France. • Louis-Philippe Rule- • Political Support came from middle class. • Working class was completely excluded from political power. • The Chamber of Deputies difference of opinion- • Party of Movement- wanted change in certain areas of the government. • Party of Resistance- France = Perfect Form no change needed.

Revolutionary Outburst in Belgium, Poland, and Italy- • Belgium- • Congress of Vienna combines Catholic Belgium with Protestant Dutch Republic. • Belgium fights against the Dutch and convinces, European power to give them independence. • Constitutional monarchy • Italy – • Austrian troops were sent to end revolts in 3 states. • Poland- • Failed to get the support of France and Britain • Russians crushed the revolts and had a strong dictatorship over Poland.

Reform in Great Britain • The July revolution causes change in Britain. • The Whigs in power- • The election reform bill • Gave industrial urban communities a voice in the government. • Only helped the upper middle class. • Industrialist and manufactures favored economic liberalism. • The Poor law- tried to encourage people to want to work. • The repeal of the corn law, lowering bread prices.

  5. Revolution of 1848 • Industrial and agricultural depression created hardship for the lower class. • Louis-Philippe was run out of government after his refusal to help. • Provisional Government was created and ran by Louis Blanc • Workshops-factories ran by workers. Unskilled jobs • Created a split • Moderate republic- support came from most of France. • Radical Republic- support from working class.
