  1. Acer Support Helps You In Enabling Or Disabling The Secure Boot

  2. Secure boot on an Acer laptop is designed to stop malicious software and unapproved media from loading during system start-up process. To learn how to enable or disable secure boot on laptop, follow the given guidelines according to your product.

Desktop • Shut down your laptop completely after saving your current work. • Now, press the power button to turn on your system. • Press Delete key repeatedly to enter the BIOS/UEFI just after the first logo appears on the screen. • Highlight the Secure Boot option, hit the Enter button and then select the down arrow to reach to the Disable option. • Select Boot Options by using the right arrow key

  4. Now, highlight the option of Launch CSM and press Enter button. • Using drop-down arrow, select Always. • You may see a Boot Folder option in the menu. If this option is available, change it to Legacy. • Now, press Enter key and after it press F10 key to save the changes. • Restart your computer now.

Notebooks • If you are using Acer notebooks then shut it down. • Press F2 key immediately just after turning it on. • Now, go to Security option using right arrow key. • Using down arrow key, highlight the option of Set Supervisor Password and hit Enter button. • Type a strong password using symbols, number and alphabets. Retype the same to confirm it and hit Enter key again.

  6. Select Boot using right arrow and press the down arrow key to highlight Secure Boot. • Hit Enter and then highlight disabled and hit Enter again. • Finally, press F10 key and select Yes option to save the changes and close the BIOS.
