Last week in class, we engaged in silent reading, collectively reading an impressive 610 pages—averaging 226.5 pages a day! We celebrated our top readers: Jordan, Bethany, Tyler, and Olivia. Our discussions centered around the meaning of poetry, exploring personal experiences and interpretations. The warm-up activity, Scategories, sparked creativity, while our Polaris Music Prize analysis allowed us to dive deep into lyrics by top artists like Ron Sexsmith and The Weeknd. We concluded with reflection on how lyrics influence our perception of music.
