Other Efforts • TR Contributor Collaboration Digitization Effort: • Provide full-text availability to those citations in the TR database which currently does not have full-text available or the current full-text is of low quality. • Using older documents in a hard-copy or digital format documents. • Provide a better quality document than could be retrieved from the microfiche or which is currently available.
Other Efforts • Loan Processing: • Borrow hard-copy documents not currently in the TR collection for digitization. • Army War College, Army Heritage and Education Center, Carlisle, PA • Student thesis for digitizing or as new documents to the collection • Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, VA • Collection of Vietnam War and Japan documents • Placing special identifier in citation easily retrieves the collection
Other Efforts • Contract Deliverable Requirements List (CDRL) Support • Review CDRL instructions to ensure that correct submitting information is included and offer any recommended revisions. • Developed CDRL template, which is available on the “Tutorial and Other Guidance for Submitting Documents” Web site.
Other Efforts • Trend Analysis • Perform analysis of organizations who have submitted to DTIC in the past to determine those who have decreased their submission rate. • Contact these organizations to advise and determine the possible cause of the decrease, with hopes of either increasing input into DTIC or understanding logical reasons as to why their numbers may have declined (e.g., a decrease in budget).
Other Efforts • Collection Analysis • Provide an analysis of an organization’s current collection in the TR database. • This analysis includes statistics of the number of citations, along with the number of those citations which have the full-text available, broken out by: • Total number documents for that organization • Number of documents which are Unclassified vs. Classified • Number of documents which are Unlimited vs. Limited • Yearly submission rate
