Weight Room Policies Leave the SC Weight Room in better condition than you found it DO NOT leave equipment everywhere, fans running, door open, or lights on The door should not be open during your allotted time If the problem persists, all SC activity in the weight room will be canceled until further notice

  6. Off-Site Responsibility Student Code of Conduct • If you are in uniform and/or representing KU, you are expected to uphold all of KU’s standards • Represent yourself and your team in an appropriate manner. • Unacceptable behavior may lead to the termination of the organization. • http://www.policy.ku.edu

  7. Off-Site Responsibility Cont: Alcohol Policy • The University of Kansas prohibits the unlawful possession, use, manufacture, or distribution of alcohol or drugs by students or by employees on its property or as part of its activities. • Kansas State Laws: • It is illegalfor anyone under 21 years of age to possess, purchase, attempt to purchase, or consume cereal malt beverage or alcoholic liquor except where specific exemptions are provided by law. • It is also illegal for anyone to furnish cereal malt beverage or alcoholic liquor to another person under 21 years of age. • Club members, fans, coaches, etc. cannot consume alcohol (even if they’re 21) while participating in or attending any Sport Club event.

  8. Shenk Policies • Clubs should only use their space during their allotted time slot. • No glass, tents, dogs, or alcohol • Observe and follow the open/closed signs • Do not practice during inclement weather • Report any field hazards to Shenk Supervisor or Recreation Staff • http://recreation.ku.edu/facilities/shenk.shtml Restrooms and Storage Room • Are available for use upon request. The SC staff will unlock the doors for you. Paint • There is paint located at Shenk. • Clubs are responsible for painting their own fields. • No last minute requests will be approved. • Please remember to turn in rented field-paint equipment promptly.

  9. Martial Arts Sanitation • A mop has been provided to the martial arts room at the request of some clubs. • Please make sure that after using the mop, it is placed on the black, straining shelf within the yellow mop bucket.

  10. Labeling Paperwork • When clubs turn in licenses, insurance, direct deposits (EFT), voided checks, and W-9s. Please label what club the individuals are from. • (Address much match on Intent to Travel, voided check, direct deposit [EFT], and W-9) • Announcements

  11. Turning in paperwork Board members are responsible for teaching their members how to fill out paperwork properly If Board members have questions regarding the proper procedures for filling out documents, set up a meeting with your Program Manager All paperwork must be submitted to room 203 (your PM’s mailbox) NOT to the administrative mailboxes

  12. Intent to Travel • If using RF, turn in ITTs 15 business days in advance – THERE WILL BE NO MORE LENENIENCY • You must meet with your program manager 10 days or more prior to your event. • It is YOUR job to meet – not your PM’s to email and ask! • Fill out forms THOROUGHLY! • Include travel roster and indicate drivers.

Clubs Missing Liability Waivers Practices, games, events, and travel will be canceled effective Monday, 9/30/13 if liability waivers are not turned in to your PM Clubs that have not submitted waivers: Badminton Baseball Boxing Disc Golf Fencing JiuJitsu Judo Ki Aikido Kumdo/Kendo Men’s Lacrosse Women’s Lacrosse Marksmanship Men’s Rugby Women’s Rugby Sailing Tennis Men’s Ultimate Women’s Volleyball

  14. Clubs that need to finish SILC Tennis Need Advisor’s confirmation Women’s Rugby Need the President’s confirmation Must be finished by Friday or your club will no longer be eligible for Sport Club Status

  15. Fall Semester Schedules The following clubs have their fall semester schedules turned in: • Bowling • Men’s Rugby • Running • Women’s Soccer • Softball • Women’s Ultimate Due Friday, 9/27/13

  16. Visitor Waiver • You must fill out a “Visitor Waiver and Release of Liability” form for anyone that competes at your event. • You must turn your “Visitor Waiver and Release of Liability” forms in within 3 days of your event. • Usually, a SC Supervisor or PM present at your event will pick them up.

  17. Constitutions and Budgets • First draft was due 9/18/13 • Final draft deadline has been pushed back to – Discussion with Tyler
