Transitional activities • These were planned before the Act came into force • They can continue until 28 June 2014 provided they: • prepare an impact assessment • provide this impact assessment to the EPA
Existing activities • These activities began before the Act came into force • They can continue unless “changes” occur • For any “changes” they must apply to the EPA
How we monitor transitional and existing operations • We monitor these in a similar way to permitted activities with: • intelligence gathering • operator liaison • compliance action • We have also conducted inspections
Inspections • Transitional inspections monitor compliance with s20 • Existing structure inspections monitor compliance with s162
